To what battery chemistry is this video referring ?
ОтветитьIt could be my lack of clarity but although you discuss the 'special' equalization stage I still don't get the purpose of this stage from your explanation.
ОтветитьSuper helpful
ОтветитьDear Mr. , do this cycles apply to all battery types ?
ОтветитьIf I charge my car's battery from 30% to 60%, does this count as 1 cycle? Is it bad to do this?
Ответитьis equalizing good for lifepo4? my absorption and equalizing is 14.0 volts and my float is 13.2 volts
ОтветитьMy solar acid batteries didn't get a bulk and absorption charging. Only floating At the morning. Why??
ОтветитьI've been using the CTEK smart charger for my motorcycle battery and for the first time, I can understand all the terms; thank you.
I do have a question though. The charger says that a battery (depending on it's condition) can stay in FLOAT for up to 10 days, after which it goes into the pulse stage where the charger pulses electricity to maintain the charge. Last time the battery was in float stage for almost 15 hours (but had not moved to pulse stage). I disconnected it from the charger and connected it to my mobike but it didn't start the bike (although it did get the lights and fuel injection going). So, I put it back on the charger. Since then it has been in float for two days now and I'm still waiting for it to go to PULSE (it does say it can take upto 10 days). Would it be advisable to go back reconnect it to the bike and try again? I don't want to start all over again!!
I've been curious on what it means when people say your battery only has a certain amount of charge cycles, and if you charge from below 25 to 100, it's 1 cycle. charged my phone to 100 many, many times with no heat issues. Will this negatively affect my batteries life span?
ОтветитьWhat happens when you start to discharge the battery after reaching float mode
ОтветитьCan you identify how much time needed to reach every stage
ОтветитьProfessor indeed with unconditional love for transmitting his knowledge. Thank you sir
ОтветитьAn analogy to water is how it was explained to me many decades ago and what I have used to explain it to a novice. However, the actual energy flows outside the wire and you would have to struggle to compare that to water in a closed system. Maybe look at the lower pressure outside the hose and credit it with the energy produced or harnessed.
ОтветитьThanks heaps for explaining. Very clear and infomative.
ОтветитьWery well presented! Nice. Thx,👍
ОтветитьI don't understand why a PbH+ battery needs CC charging. Surely at CV (at or below max charging V) the battery will self determine the current (with the exception of the equalisation stage) ie, a normal buck converter set at 14V or so will allow a 12V PbH+ to charge and sit at float by its own internal resistance??
Ответитьi self set up a solar system . seems fine lol . but i have a huge issue understanding float charge discharge etc .. im using 1kw of panels . 250 w each = 4 panels the voltage is said to be roughly 37v each so approx 140v total . i get about 130 on my charge controller , so im happy , im getting pretty good transfer from panels to battery . but i never get more than 400 watts from them .. besides that . my issue is . in the morning they charge up great . straight to full charge . 4 x 190a/h batteries , charges full at 58v . but as soon as it gets full it starts discharging . i only use about 100w an hour from my appliances . which is only my pc music system cctv and internet ,and while its discharging the watts from the panel through the charge controller drops dramatically . , by the time the sun goes down . im left with only 51v battery power . which only gives me 3v until i get warnings that the batteries are low . i havnt lost power to my room yet , but its coming very close . my assumption was , that id be charging the batteries all day, then when the sun went down id have a full 58 v's to use over night . which would be 10v's i could use up before batteries went flat . but no , i only get a few volts left after sunset and discharging . im obviously doing something wrong . i just dont know what . any ideas on how i can stop the discharging . or set it up so at night the batteries start at full charge instead of near empty ... ? this solar is a suckers game . lol ive worked that much out . its an empty pit of money to save a few bucks . but im stuck with it now and would like to make the most of it ...
ОтветитьExcellent information and delivery to the audience. Thank you professor!
ОтветитьThanks, great info (I am in the process of programming a voltage regulator and need to understand better these cycles)!
ОтветитьWell explained, my salute
ОтветитьI agree with all said below. Thanks.
ОтветитьSo i wonder what float voltage on a 100ah deep cycle 12 volt battery?
ОтветитьExcellent Explaination !! One Of The Best Technical Clarifications I have ever came accross .Many Thanks and Best Wishes !!
ОтветитьIf you have two separate charge controllers, how does it go to float?
Ответитьhello. I have 2 systems with hybrid inverter. each system with load 500-800wh load. and has. battey bank 12pcs * 200ah 12v/ c10 /63kg other syatem with load 500wh load 8pcs *200ah 12v c10 /63kg
the systems failed after 6months or less operation to support load for 2 hours at least.
I replaced the batteries from 2 different factories and still failed for the 3rd time
Hello please let me know what you suggest for the best setting for 200 amp luminous solar battery 12200
I have 4 Battery connected to inverter 48v
Inverter app setting:
Battery Parameters Setting:
-Battery cut-off voltage:
-Back to grid voltage:
-Back to discharge voltage:
-Charger source priority: SUB
-Max. charging current:
-Max. AC charging current:
-Float charging voltage:
-Bulk charging voltage(C.V. voltage):
Regards
my 4 months tubular batteries goldstar ....are dropping fast from 55 volts till 49 on low load......and last long from 49 till 48 whats wrong ?
ОтветитьActually you didnt say how many hours i need to equalize..is it 1 hour. 2 3 4 5?
ОтветитьExcellent explanation! I'm currently setting up a system for my shop, it's challenging and fun! Thank you.
Ответитьall in one inverters use available voltage to run your house even without a battery. Leaving your batteries while charging from solar to flow with out taking from the battery saving it for night time use.
Ответитьi have 2 strings of 48 volts flooded batteries ..what is the best charging on my inverter ,,,,mine is 58.2 bulk and 55.2 as floating ,,, during winter time and temperature between 0 and 10 c ?
Ответитьwhat if any inverter doesn't have an EQUALIZATION feature. in that case, how will that affect battery life and performance?
I have the same inverter where the BULK nad FLOAT feature is available but missing the EQUALIZATION feature. can you tell me about this issue?
Question, Mr. Gorter, having a bulk of 6 batteries, each having a 30 amp max charge input, is the input still 30 amps max or 30 x 6?
ОтветитьProbably the best explanation I've seen so far. Thank you! I have one question, I have a 24v LiFePO4 battery where the manufacturer recommended the same bulk and float charge of 28.8v. How does this work?
ОтветитьWell explained mate, now you had better get off that mountain before the sun goes down
ОтветитьThat is excellent . A question . Is there a formula for absorb time calculation ? Let's say 4 c20 lead acid batteries of two 24v strings . 250aH each string .
ОтветитьI want to know if is a problem to choose a high charge voltage for bulk and absorption but choose low charging voltage for float?
ОтветитьWooo well explained
ОтветитьAppreciate your videos, thank you!
ОтветитьThis explanation was excellent thank you so much
ОтветитьThanks
