Thank you really helpful and will use the link for this pass. Can I ask about visiting Rigi/Titlis/Plateus? if We are based in interlaken, do we have to get Tell pass? for these or would the Combination of Half fare + Berner pass help?

Hello Jana and Brett,
Thanks for your detailed videos.
just one clarification, How to use the Berner Oberland Pass. What i mean is we can directly go, show the pass and take a seat or we have to book a ticket before ?
Also, will i get a physical or virtual BO Pass?

Good morning- Thank you for all of your videos and information. Looks like this is the pass for us as we will be staying a week in Grendelwald at the Glacier hotel. How much do you charge for an itinerary for 6 days? Looking to incorporate Lauterbrunnen, Miren, etc...

So if you're travelling from, say, Zurich to interlaken you would buy a half price ticket from Zurich to Bern and then travel free with the BO pass from Bern to interlaken?

Thanks Jana & Brett. We are visiting Switzerland in June-2024 and I've already purchased your travel guide for Jungfrau region and Lucerne. I have one question about Berner Oberland pass purchase. How can I purchase this pass with youth price? I only see option for children below 16 and adults (16+), there is no special price for youth from 16 to 25, so my confusion.

My only regret was to buy the 3 days, because we love the region so much that we decided to extend 1 more day. Boy, how expensive swiss public transport is without that pass. Wish they have special for last minute plan change.

We are traveling to Switzerland with a child (6 year). We are staying 7 nights in Lauterbrunen and 1 night in Lucerne and planing to buy BO pass. Do we need to pay anything extra for cable cars, cruises etc ? I know we need to pay for some mountain cable cars such as Jungfraujoch but the area covers by BO pass? Any extra charges or we can simply tap our card and ride ? 😊

Could you please give an example of what it costs? If I am not mistaken it does cost an aweful lot to buy the half price plus the Berner for, say 4 days. It may be cheaper than buying single tickets, but still, it is ridiculously more expensive than in any other neighbouring countries

Hi there. I have been watching your videos as well as others.

We are arriving from Athens to Milan on the 31 and going to the Dolomites on a tour. We will be in Italy 2 days then on the 1st late going back to Milan and continuing to either Zermatt or Interlaken. If Zermatt we will sleep there and arrive early on the 2nd in Interlaken. We will be there until late on the 4th. I am thinking about getting the Eurail for 6 days but don’t know how that will work in the interlaken region from the 31-6 we are leaving back to Florida on the 6 early morning. Will the Eurail cover all trains in the interlaken area? Leaving out of Paris on the 6th

Hello. Thank you for all information you provide in your videos. As I understand, one would be better off to buy the oberland pass in advance? I also read that one needs to have a seat reservation for any trip. Does a seat reservation need to be done in advance for each trip too or you can do it right before a trip at a ticket office or machine at a train station?

I actually bought the BOP after watching your video but then have had some travel plan changes resulting in more travel outside the Berner Oberland. My calculation now unfortunately suggests that maybe I should get a Swiss Travel Pass instead; I'm hoping the BLS will refund the youth tickets I bought through them. My question is are there a significant number of mountain rides covered by the BOP not covered by the STP? The STP supposedly covers the whole Schilthorn ride but for other cable cars or mountain trains would just be half off while BOP has more of that covered?

Hello,
I have been watching your videos for a while now to get some tips for my first time coming to Switzerland !

I hope it's alright if I can ask some questions since you guys are PROS at this !!

I'm looking to go by myself in September for only a week or possibly 10 days. I'm wanting to start at Geneva for a couple of days and then making my way up to Interlaken, Grindewald and whatever else I can nearby.

Would the Berner Oberland pass still be good for this journey ? Or is there something else you recommend for me ?

Really appreciate it if I could hear back from you guys. Quite nervous.

The videos (all of them) are super helpful in planning our trip. We are planning a trip to Paris and Switzerland and will be mostly near Interlaken and visit the mountains on 2nd week of June 2024. Hoping to make the maximum of the trip. So planning it this way. Day 0 (Taking a train to Zurich and hoping to take the Interlaken express from Lucern to Interlaken and starying near Wilderswill for the next days), Day 1 (Jungfraujoch and Grindelwarld First and the village), Day2 (Schilthorn, Birg, Allmendhubel),Day 3 ( Lauterbrunnen and Lake Brienz/Thun) and leave for Geneva towards the evening. It is a bit too much, but based on checking out your videos on passes, my options were ( Half travel card Berner Oberland Pass + Half Travel Card). It should be the latter, but when I get the numbers, it . I am not sure if the Berner Oberland pass only removes the hassle of buying tickets , which I plan to do using their online apps).

We are renting a car in Zurich since we will be driving several passes in Switzerland, Italy, and Austria. Spending 4 nights in the Bernese Oberland and 3 nights in Zermatt. Looking for best pass combination. Your Ultimate Swiss Pass Train Checklist (page 7) recommends Swiss Half Fare Card and Jungfrau Travel Pass. Is that the current recommendation?

I've been watching your videos for a while now and they are very, very nice and informative! I already stole some ideas for our summer vacation in Switzerland this year. :)

We are planning to buy the Berner Oberland Pass, but can you please clarify how does it work for the gondolas for example? Do you just scan your pass at the turnstiles or you need to show the pass at the ticket offices so they can give you a ticket?

We are also planning to ride the Brienz Rothorn Bahn - do we need to book the tickets in advance (as it is very popular during summer) if we own the Berner Oberland Pass?

Thanks for this informative video on the BO pass--definitely going to get it. One question I have is with the pass how does one make sure you have tickets for specific trains like the Goldenpass (Interlaken to Montreux) or Luzern Interlaken Express? Do you go on the sites and reserve seats only (for the fee) and is it complicated with the Goldenpass since the BO only is free part of the way (pay on the train or before you board?). From looking around, most of the sites for local transport including BLS boat don't note the BO pass as a discount option. Also kind of a bummer in that it seems like unused online reservation fees cannot refunded in case your trip timing changes.

Hi Jana and Brett, great video as always! Thanks! A question please… we are rlanning on travelling to grindelwald from paris, we already booked tickets to basel sbb. From my research, the BOPass takes effect from basel sbb so we shouldn’t have to book tickets from basel onwards to grindelwald but its a bit “unnerving” not having a reserved ticket… so do we really just “hop-on” a train with the berner oberland pass?
