The fight with the bone dragons made me wonder if you can retreat from battles. I've seen in a previous battle that there were arrows pointing out behind you and it made me wonder if you could potentially fight skirmish type battles. Is it possible to maybe attack with your ranged units for a turn, flee the fight and attack again whittling them down until the fight is somewhat manageable? Not sure if thats possible. And I'm sure some people would view that as cheating but if the game allows it Idk if I'd consider it cheating~cheese maybe~but not cheating. Especially if your game just started and you're facing bone dragons. "He who fights and runs away...." You guys know what they say.... lol

I want to see a build that relies solely on magic: instead of melee warriors, guys with magic wands/ staffs/mages in general, instead of ranged warriors, mages too, but much stronger, etc. Is this even possible in this game?

That's NOT a mole skull. That's a rodent skull, like a gopher. Mole skulls are absolutely metal, full of sharp teeth like a crocodile. My guess is that google screwed up, and spat out a picture of a naked mole rat skull. Mole rats are rodents, and have those big honking incisors, because mole rats dig with their mouth and teeth. Moles only use their mouths for grabbing food, and have very pointy sharp teeth because those are good for grabbing insects and worms.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to play Age of Wonders 3 well I'm pretty uncertain if I want to take my chances on AoW4

if you trully want a harder mode, get hardest mount added.
the fainting goat curse. if the initial shock damage exceeds a certain level, the affected mounted unit skips a turn due fainting.
including if your leaders if they get any mount.

I've been wishing that Amplitude would make another Endless Legend, perhaps without the terrible combat system. And suddenly, a challenger appears! I've never heard of this series before.

ehh.. the high gobbo game was kinda boring tbf. no cities and no neighboor players to engage in diplomacy removes away a pretty substantial part of the game.

Great vid and love that it is so long. AoW4 really looks like fun. Loved AoW3, never grew warm with planetfall and eagerly waiting for this one.
