Ответитьfor those who are asking what means the phrase in latin is this:
Ad victoriam ex machina non sibi sed Patriae
Going to victory, as a machine not for himself but for the country.
(as a bolivian guy with catholic education latin is easy to understand xD)
this was a prussian legend taken for the romans and adapted to his military education. they are a machine not for themselves but for the country. they fought for everthing what matters for them.
(this was writed commonly in the german war propaganda)
thats why:
what about the men executing orders?!?
this is because they konw what they are doing, but think this was a correct sacrifice. this was for their people.
a lie
and cruel lie.
Crazy madmen on a leash, or young men who lost their way?
Grand illusions of the Reich may seem real at times
a lie they think was real.
Panzers on a line form the Wehrmacht’s spine
Lethal grand design
What about the men executing orders?
dying in fields and inside machines.
tricked for a angry austrian men than also wants more for his people and believes his own lie.
what about the men ?
This song is great to listen to when squatting
ОтветитьIm going to germany Fur con in particular AND IM GONNA BLAST THIS WITH MY MP-40
Ответитьwhat's ironic is that, unlike this song, german tanks sucked
ОтветитьIn my opinion this song has the best guitar section. Followed by Great War. I dont know what it is.
Ответитьwhere does the image of a german soldier with a machine gun come from?
Ответитьit would be hard not to feel invincible in the early days of Barbarossa when 3.3 million German troops, 2500 tanks, and 2800 aircraft advanced into the Soviet Union.
Virtually unopposed in the first 2 months, with the Russians suffering 2 million dead in that time.
Have to give the Russians credit though, as much as you might not like them. They shed the lions share of the blood that was needed to soak up the might of the Wehrmacht
I love the mechanical-like sounds in the intro, and sprinkled throghout the song. It really makes up the machine vibe.
ОтветитьI wanna use this
ОтветитьPov: you’re playing in Third Reich in Hoi4
ОтветитьWehrmacht!! Wieder mit !?
Besten soldaten!!!!
Alot people don't realize the massive irony: Hitler and the Third Reich were the worst thing to happen the German people. They let themselves get pulled into a war that layer waste to their country and took the lives of millions. No other event in history was more calamitous for Germany than WWII
ОтветитьIf you see this comment, play this video on x1.25

ОтветитьGerman MP40 "Maschinenpistole.40" submachine gun,.40 caliber. General History The Maschinenpistole 40, commonly known as the MP40, is similar to the Thompson, but uses a smaller 9-mm round. This submachine gun evolved out of the MP38, which was prone to misfirings that had sometimes lethal results. A simple technical innovation to the hammer eliminated the problem, and the MP40 was born. Total production is unknown but it is believed that more that one million of these weapons were produced between 1940 and 1944.
ОтветитьIs the thumbnail from the russian movie 'Stalingrad' ?
Looks like the soldier in the thumbnail is actually a Wehrmacht captain. That particular scene is at 43 minutes and 16 seconds. I'm not 100% sure but you can check it out.

ОтветитьIt's unfortunate how few people understand that the Wehrmacht were terrorized just as badly as the German civilian population (including non-Jews). Any man found in dereliction of duty or disobeying orders was either shipped to Berlin for a mock-trial and execution or simply shot on-site by an SS officer attached to the regiment, like with the Soviet comissars - they lived in fear of their commanders, just as the civvies did back home. And most German Army troopers were barely aware of what the Nazi party's goals and politics were, and thought they were just fighting for a new and stronger Germany, not the deranged ravings of a cabinet of war criminals.
ОтветитьThat truck painted on the pic isnt german though, but US
Ответитьpersonally I believe that the Wehrmacht were more than willing to exact retribution upon the nations that had humiliated theirs-at least, at first-but as time passed, the war dragged on, and the Nazi party's corruption became more and more obvious, I'd be shocked if none of them started having doubts about the whole thing.
ОтветитьYears ago my daughter wrote an essay in high school about Hitler's Germany. She did it in journal form, through the eyes of the common soldier.
ОтветитьGerman repilled successors, listening to other music
Hitler in hell
"Oh look they made a song about me"
Wach auf, Soldat
ОтветитьSo many comments about the meanings of lyrics and ideas of propaganda in this song, but I’m just here cuz I love history and this shit sounds awesome
