I am a completely tech novice here. Here is what I don't get. How can they do a worse job than before? Don't they just modify what is bad and then make it better?

Is it worth buying the Chinese version over the global version in Europe? It is substantially differently priced, global priced the lowest I could find 858 euros whereas the chinese version 607 euros. What phone do you recommend instead for 650 euro budget?

The bad thing about the 12 series of phones is the virtual proximity sensor always had problems with them in other xiaomi phones that's why I chose the xiaomi 11t that's the only phone that has a physical proximity sensor. To bad because this phone looks stunning

Did you have to install Custom Rom since this was the Chinese version am thinking about buying the MI 11 Pro but theirs no Global version 😢 Thinking of custom Rom but I heard U don't get automatic updates & securuty measures r killed off after Re-installing custom rom I stay in Africa & quite travel alot do u think I should continue to buy the MI 11 Pro 🔥

What is that place where you tested camera?

I have the China version, green faux leather, 12/256gb....never experienced the stutter in google or other google apps. But battery life sucks. 120w charger, never experienced the full charge in 20 minutes. Sometimes it's over 30 minutes with charger boosted and the phone gets really hot. I can compare this phone to a moody person as far as battery life and charging is concerned. Hoping for optimizations.
Performance wise, it's a beast. Camera, over saturated but social media ready. Slow motion video, one of the best if not the best. Zoom capabilities, I miss my old mi 10 youth edition.

I was really looking into the 11T Pro, but the more reviews and opinions I read and watch, the less appealing the handset and the issues with MIUI become.

The Iqoo 9 pro heats up too much in the long run, The Oppo X5 pro costs too damn much, The S22 ultra costs too much for its performance, the Xiaomi 12 pro has its "xiaomi-ish" Issue, the realme gt 2 pro doesn't really look flagship neither the curved display, maybe the Motorola edge 30 wins the race this year!

Qualcomm went with Samsung to fabricating the chips due to chip shortage instead of TSMC and thats tends to reason why the overheating issue exist

I have redmi note 10 pro. But the 120hz is not joke on the battery. But with battery saver on. It can take the whole day.

Xiaomi's cooling solution is one of the best, but Qualcomm does with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 what they have always done and what Intel has done for a few years now: make the chip competitive performance-wise, even at the price of astronomic power consumption. The Snapdragon 888 in my Mi 11 Pro is better at efficiency, compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen1, but still throttles in games and other places, like the camera. I'm sure that Dimensity 9000 will be the king of Android this year and we'll see upper-mid-rangers beating most "flagships"... and this should be a good lesson for Qualcomm, as it was for Intel when AMD dethroned them all-around, just so that they can come up with Alder Lake. Also, the main camera in 12 Pro is a downgrade, compared to the Samsung GN2 used in Mi 11 Pro/Ultra.

Hi Chris, I found it very useful when you used to compare the 'color specs' of 2 phones ( like for instance between S21 ultra and Mi 11 one year ago). I like your reviews. I;m gonna buy a refurbished MI 11.

Xiaomi getting worse every year. The mi 12 prices in Europe will be spicy and what they offer are bellow what other premium brands give us. Also I hope media Tek keeps improving cause Qualcomm flagships socs are real poor this last 2 years. Samsung manufacturing Qualcomm socs is a big mistake.

I think it's more an Android 12 issue, android 11 phones are much stable. I say that because majority of custom ROMs based on Android 12 had problems (very unstable), pixel 6 had problems (and still have) too. User's from mi community China say that MIUI 13 it's much smoother and optimized than 12.5 enhanced, so I don't think it's really an MIUI issue. Also if GSM don't exist in China, maybe Google didn't optimized apps for this phone. This is just my opinion

MI really makes standards for other mobile companies in terms of hardware but their UI really sucks. Every time mi launches flagship I feel like buying them but after seeing those UI it lets me down

I live in Australia and I bought the Xiaomi 12 pro from China. I did not know there is gonna be a global launch (my bad). I have noticed that I can not access some apps and I can't add other languages to the phone aside from English (I speak Spanish, as well). Will this change once Xiaomi launch the global version or my phone will stay the same regardless. Thank you in advance!
