ОтветитьI liked this video so much. I think it would be great to use this video to teach this grammar point. But I wonder how could I develop post activities based on this video? It would be great if you could share your own ideas.
ОтветитьThank you so much for your teaching.

ОтветитьAnother great video! When was this video shot?
ОтветитьDear Real English Thanks a bundle for your video. I really appreciate it. By the way, would you mind if I had a silly question like this, but that's what my students used to ask me. In the clip, a woman said, "I used not to cook". My students got confused because their teachers in high schools showed them to say I didn't use to cook. So, could you take a look at it and kindly tell me which one is correct in both grammar and daily conversation? I'm looking forward to seeing your response.
ОтветитьI believe that I have already used some of your other videos in our class. They are a wonderful resource and I am appreciative that they are available online. Thanks.
ОтветитьIt's no big deal, Green Pastures. Not to worry. I just hope that your students like the other videos with the lessons on the Real English site. I created this site while teaching EFL at the same time, here in France (I'm American, but I've lived here for the second half of my life). I still teach, part time, and I find that my online lessons are good for homework, too. My French students like them. Try them out. No pot or anything similar in the other lessons!
ОтветитьThank you for your reply and your service as a video maker to ESL students. Please know that I do not disagree with the comments you sent me, and do appreciate your perspective on this subject. I should have listened to the whole video before playing it in class. Though I know it is a real subject, I personally would not have chosen to expose it to the students at this time. . You have my sympathy in the loss of your Mother.
ОтветитьI used to kill a lot of ants but now I kill a lot of cockroaches intead.
ОтветитьHello Green Pastures, I'm a videomaker, but first and foremost an English (ESL) teacher. It is true that I agonized over whether to include the FORMER marijuana smoker or not. - This lesson is "used to do". I explain that she discovered the bad side of pot smoking as a teenager, became responsible, grew up, and then stopped smoking grass. - This is Real English. Why avoid common subjects? - My mom recently died of cancer. Despite all the false hype about "medical marijuana", it can be good 1 -
Ответитьwhat's wrong with pot???
ОтветитьHello Dom Loki - Yes, it is informal, but not exactly slang. Party can simply be used as a verb.
ОтветитьI listened to only 95% of clip before showing it to teenage ESL class. My mistake, because near the end of this video, the example of "used to" is "I used to smoke pot,but don't anymore." I certainly would not have used this video had I known that was in it. Maybe someone else can benefit from my mistake.
Ответитьthanks a lot
ОтветитьI used to watch videos without subtitles or with spanish subtitles, but now I have found this, and I feel so glad because this help me a lot
ОтветитьWhat does ''used to party'' mean? It's a slang isn't it?
