Talking more garbage
Ответитьthumbs down and unsub for been full of it
ОтветитьI don't understand why Nissan isn't selling the Leaf with CCS or offering a conversion kit for current owners. Even if still meant DC charging at 50kw and the rapidgate still occuring I would pay even 1000€. As for MG, they should offer the LFP battery at every trim, not just the base model.
ОтветитьMG4 SE can be charged happily up to 100% every day due to LFP battery. So that USABLE 50.8 kWh of battery in the MG4 can be fully exploited, whereas you will want to only charge up to 80% of the Leaf's 39kWh NCM battery on a daily basis = big difference in real-world range. Surprised that wasn't mentioned.. as it's a biggee. Assuming 3.5 miles per kWh you will get 109 miles of range in the Leaf on a regular basis. In the MG4 SE, you will get 177 miles. Long journeys are possible on the MG4, but not as easy in the Leaf, particularly when you consider the parcity of Chademo chargers on some routes.
ОтветитьYou should have mentioned, the Leaf is manufactured in the UK. Whereas the MG is manufactured in China, and nothing related to MG at all. They just bought the brand name after it got bankruptcy.
Ответить$26k U.S. for a Chevy Bolt..250 miles, and a 65 kWh battery, enough room for four, 6ft 3in adults.
ОтветитьWhats the MG like in the wet and winter conditions being rear wheel drive?
ОтветитьTowing weight: 0kg and 500kg for the other.
ОтветитьI have just purchased a 6mths old Nissan Leaf N Connecta. More spec than the Acenta. Lovely car and got it for less than £20K with 2000 miles on the clock. Delighted with it, lovely to drive. PLUS THE LEAF IS BUILT IN THE 🇬🇧.
ОтветитьBiggest problem with Chinese cars like MG is availability keeping prices too high. Biggest advantage of Nissan cars like the Leaf is they are made in the UK, so lots available at good prices. Biggest disadvantage of Leaf is the lack of battery thermal management.
ОтветитьMG4 is a Chinese car. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Many EVs in China are going up in flames.
ОтветитьNissan leaf many years of proven reliability and development. MG4….?
ОтветитьWISH the Pomms would wake up to themselves and use kilometres. Hard to convert in your head, and stupid to drive in a country where the signs are in yards and miles. Here the metres add up easily to kilometres. As an Australian it is easier to drive in France as long as you stay on the wrong side of the road. Ireland, no problem.
ОтветитьI have a used Mk2 LEAF (the Mk1 with a 30kwhr battery). I love it to bits and it does everything I wanted it to do. Trips up to 100 miles and charging at home from my Solar panels.
However, Chademo charging port makes it a non-starter as a long range choice.
Chedemo is very hard to find and usually there is only 1 port in any row of 10 CCS chargers.
Summary. If you charge at home and only use it for local trips, or a commuter vehicle, it's a superb used buy (they are so cheap used). Otherwise, look elsewhere, the LEAF has had its day.
I think the MG's biggest advantage is the London design studio. The nice lines and clean design goes a long way, meanwhile the Leaf looks utilitarian and basic.
ОтветитьDon’t know why you compare these two. They are not even closed. Leaf’s battery is air cooled while mg4 has a liquid cooling bms. So leaf’s battery degrades much faster than mg4. I can reject buying leaf based on that fact alone.
ОтветитьWe've had our mg4 for 3 weeks now and LOVE it!
The daily commute is about 7 miles each way, in Greater London traffic (half an hour + ) and even with the so-called 'granny' 3pin 13amp domestic socket charger, we only need to plug in once a week over night. We have an 8kW wall charger too but barely use it. Happy bunnies
But why is the MG so much cheaper? Because the Chinese are trying to infiltrate the EU market, and all the Western manufacturers have been dragging their feet on EVs (aside from Tesla).
ОтветитьI wish we have more compact EV like the MG here in the US. The Leaf isn’t very competitive here and everything else is 1 size bigger and sedan
ОтветитьHow about the 2-way charging on the Leaf?
ОтветитьMy 3 year PCP on this Leaf is coming to a end. The car is great and I've been really happy with it but I'll be going for the MG4 next, I really like the look of the MG4.
The battery on the Leaf needs a upgrade, they need to ditch Chademo connector.
I am little bit confused :-) In Germany the MG4 Standard 51kwh start from 30 000Euros(brutto) but much comfortable Peugeot 2008-e or Citroen C4-e starts from 29 000 Euros, ... and what more spacious VW ID3? It starts from 32 000Euros and you get much better quality of LCD, seats, infotainment, service network etc... Does the UK another pricing?
Ответить*Dictatorship or Democracy 🤔
ОтветитьI'd just like to mention that rear wheel drive cars are terrible at road handling in snow and bad weather. I didn't realise until I saw this review. So the Leaf is better for road handling because it's front wheel drive. I've just recently bought a second hand Leaf N-Connecta 2019 model for almost half the cost of these brand new models. The MG4 is a late entry into the EV market so will be a while before you can pick one up for the same price I payed for the Leaf.
ОтветитьWill the Chinese still supply spare spare parts when they start WW3?
ОтветитьkW and kWh lesson required good sir.
ОтветитьI don’t like how they say cars over £25K are affordable cars, its not for many many people. Below that, maybe.
ОтветитьMy LEAF came with 5 years unlimited mileage warranty. Boils down to whether you want Chinese or Japanese qualty
ОтветитьNo one evere talks about the eSoul. I think it's the best deal around.
Ответитьrubbish presentation, especially the female
ОтветитьLeaf does not the cheap and bad in cold lfp battery. Why doe they newer talk about the lfp battery in the short range MG4
ОтветитьMy local tow-bar installer told me yesterday that there still isn't a tow-bar available for the MG4 (March 2023) so that rules this car out for me. I frequently use a tow-bar for taking garden rubbish to the dump in a trailer and for transporting my bikes on a bike rack. Or, maybe you know different, If so, let me know who fits them.
ОтветитьI'm considering my first car (and EV) between the (new) MG4 and a e+ tekna Leaf 62kwh thats used, a few years old but only a few miles on the clock. I'm not sure why you'd buy a new leaf but for <£20k for the top spec Leaf it's a lot closer, no?
ОтветитьJust on looks the MG wipes the floor with Nissans boringness
ОтветитьSpending 27k on a car made in China would be my concern. The state of geopolitics between the west and China could lead to an embargo on certain products. That’s my personal opinion. It’s for others to weigh up and research this issue before making their choice.
ОтветитьIt's better to buy a used Tesla with 300 miles of range.
ОтветитьApparently i started the feel and love towards ev cars by taking leafs for rent . But when coming to owning a one i have recently ordered the mg4
ОтветитьNissan lost the plot by not giving the face lifted LEAF a CCS type 2 charger.
ОтветитьMG has been around for decades? UK MG died years ago. China MG is new and a completely different beast with its own history. Only the letters are the same. Tell me you know this.
ОтветитьTBH I think if Nissan put in Pro Pilot into their entry level leafs then I would consider it but as they haven't and the MG looks so much nicer I think I've found my first electric car....
ОтветитьMG4 wins it on most things for me... but no rear middle headrest, no rear interior light and no rear vents?
Do the chinese hate rear passengers?
I need an advice please. Peugeot E-2008 GT or MG4 ?
ОтветитьShort version to me the most important thin is that both car's take only 1-phase type-2 charging so the 62kWh Nissan Leaf takes almost 19h to fully charge. Mean while VW ID.3 would only take around 7h to fully charge. Some countries like Finland every house hold has 3-phase electrical grid while in other countries like England most households have 1-phase electrical grid. Learn which one you have and based your car on that in my opinion. Getting 3-phase charging means 1/3 charging time which is nice. Tough you will probably pay anywhere from 1k to 10k extra for that when including 11kWh home wall charger and installation
ОтветитьHave a new Kona Ultimate, really satisfied with it. The MG 4 is really stylish and excellent value, however those wires sticking up for phone charging are?? Looks as though someone was trying to hotwire the car 😂
ОтветитьThe Leaf is made in Britain not China, better to buy British.
ОтветитьSo worse range, old type of connector and £2k more, don’t by the Leaf ✅
ОтветитьThese leafs are often £24,000 new on autotrader.
ОтветитьNissan Leaf is better Quality and looks better.
ОтветитьThey are both great cars and we have owned both. Get the car that suits you best and take these prices with a pinch of salt as there is some bargains to be had if you do some research and shop around.
