For anyone wondering about that it was the Steam Deck OLED
ОтветитьWhat's the gameplay at the beginning from?
ОтветитьAs long as it is cheap enough. I have my PC. I want a cheap machine so my kids can play Steam games (like Lego games, Sonic Racing, etc) on the TV.
ОтветитьI want someone to actually evolve controllers, the fact that every single video game in exisence has to have aim assist should be alarm bells for console makers, make better controllers, Valve made the Steam Controller which was cool but had major flaws, Dualsense controller with Gyro is a godsend on PC but no game actually uses it in a way for it to be viable
Ответить1 step closer to abandoning Windows <3
Ответитьif i can put a keyboard and mouse on it and play games which only works keyboard and mouse i'd be happy to buy it and i know steam deck exist but i'm a little uncertain with it as i need to buy a duck for it seperately and have 2 more wires if i want to always it on my tv
ОтветитьMy opinion on steam deck: The steam deck hits me, don't get me wrong but their hardwares got me interested after playing my steam deck for like over a month ago, steam deck is great but i hate that how there's some issues that doesn't support steam deck/proton/linux on games and apps, but atleast not alot of issues.
Steam Deckard/Index 2: steam index is very interesting too but it requires a PC and it's expensive for their $1,000 VR with around $500 PC, but i've heard that steam deckard/index 2 is going to be standalone, right or no?
I hope there's gonna be more useful things added more than steam index and especially making deckard standalone.
And finally, My thoughts on their game console: I'm mean... uhhh i am interested in this really but i have no idea what's going to be like or a big difference comparing to the steam deck, but i would love playing it on TV.
Yes i know they have the dock but it could be more cheaper than steam deck right? ...Riiigght?😅
The only thing i care about is the controller
ОтветитьWhat game are you playing in the background? It looks sick!
Ответитьnooo :( so no vr deckard
ОтветитьSuper excited for this. I play with my deck docked a ton and frequently wish it had a bit more juice for split screen coop. Will be an easy recommend to family wanting to PC game as well.
Anyway, they're doing this (and most other hardware efforts) to compete with Windows Store. Windows doesn't know the opportunity their store has, fortunately - cause valve dropped the ball with steam machines. I'm all for it cause I daily drive Linux and like having options on where to get games. Linux has benefited tremendously from Valve's work. Poor Microsoft, not realizing that taking a cut of software sales is an infinite money generator
You caused the Tf2 bot crisis and stalk valve employees and their families
ОтветитьI hope this can make the steamdeck stronger if link togheather
ОтветитьI’d actually buy a console if they made one! 😮
ОтветитьThis is a great move for valve to do this.
Ответитьmaybe this will be bundled with the deck that connects to it wirelessly and we will have a WiiU 2.0. and i kinda want that. max price i'm willing to pay for it is 800$
ОтветитьI mean, they already have the SteamOS, so it would make sense for them to use it.
ОтветитьCan any one tell which game footage was on this video?
ОтветитьGreat!
ОтветитьIf the steam console price would be smilar to other consoles, that would be a direct buy.
Ответитьhooooly probably the first console i'm going to buy in a loooooooong time
ОтветитьThe tech being tested in Korea if it's the WiFi device , is an updated WiFi / Bluetooth module for a slightly refreshed steam deck , not a steam deck 2 .. but a deck 1.5
ОтветитьThank you for the great video!
Ответитьgreat video, you never know what valve has up their sleeves, when we expect them to zig, they zag. would not have guessed that they'd go back to the console market!
ОтветитьWhile this sounds like a nice product to use as a combo with the upcoming VR headset I don't really see how they expect to sell it on its own and not be received with the same level of disinterest by consumers than when they launched the Steam Machines.
BTW, what's the name of the outro music?
PLEASE MAKE MORE GAMES I BEG OF YOU VALVE!!!
ОтветитьAnyone still have there steam link?
ОтветитьRETURN OF THE STEAM MACHINE
ОтветитьSteam controller exists
ОтветитьHonestly a very interesting proposition. I think the console market's long overdue for a shakeup, and Valve certainly has the capital and library to do so.
Ответитьwhat game is he playing in the background?
ОтветитьTbh I'm most hyped for the Steam Controller 2 here, I know not everyone loved them, but I think they're great and I'm worried for the day when mine die because they're so expensive now.
ОтветитьI hope console version has proper dedicated Gddr6 memory with decent AMD RDNA3 or better. I assume it be running zen 3 or zen 4 cpu.
Can’t wait for when we officially getting steam os for desktop pc and steam box or steam console. Windows 10/11 both bloatware, gaming on steam os would be so much better once devs fully support it and target steam os as standard.
Steam Kek
ОтветитьMark my word, this thing wont launch
ОтветитьA few things:
- The Galileio doesn't need a touchscreen. Your TV is already good enough as a display. It simply needs a touch pad - and it already has 2 of them. To be honest the touchscreen input part is likely unnecessary, but even if they want it, a large touchpad in the center is much cheaper than a screen
- The device will likely have the same power as the Deck, since I doubt they want to go to the "play VR via your console" route anymore, given than the Deckard is supposed to be standalone.
- Because it's a much bigger device, Valve should be able to save a lot of money not needing to shrink down and compartmentalise everything.
Given all of these, I suspect it's going to be a $300 device with roughly the same power level as the Deck, maybe a little more, and will either not come with a controller at all, or will ship with a new Steam controller
what game where you playing?
ОтветитьUuuuhhh no
ОтветитьWhat game are you playing in this video?
ОтветитьHow much I hope this is true
ОтветитьYou and Brad are the go to source for this info, thanks!
ОтветитьPLEASE call it the steam engine
ОтветитьOh okay well..... sad thats kinda boring
ОтветитьThink about the Chess game the video game industry has been. Microsoft is trying to push the Microsoft Store to create the walled garden that Apple has had for decades, eliminating the "need" for other marketplaces on the Windows platform. Valve has also been battling Epic, Ubisoft, EA, Activision, and GOG for marketplace relevance on the PC platform. Meanwhile, the simplicity of the console market has allowed Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo to run their own walled gardens without issue. That "consolized" experience was managed with the Steam Deck, to the point where home developers have been working on porting the experience to any PC, especially for use on other handheld x64 computers.
Valve is trying to secure their market with a collection of hardware devices that will encourage the brand loyalty needed to create their own walled garden of a marketplace, supporting as much of the software they sell as possible, while grabbing a piece of the handheld market, as well as setting up their VR devices with a reliable platform so it can easily compete for the high end VR marketplace without significant consumer fiddling to make things work, the same way the Quest 2 and 3 "just work" for consumers. This will secure that they will always have a platform for their market, even if Microsoft finally shuts down old executables from running on their OS, and helping to protect from the competition they are already facing.
I can't say I like this play, but it makes sense when nobody in a position of power is preventing the formation of these oligopolies for the consumer gamer marketplace. A shame that the same market conditions that caused the Video Game Crash of 1983 are rearing their ugly heads again in [current year argument]. These market conditions, as I see them are: 1) an oversaturation of low quality games from small developers just hoping to make a buck with low effort "games" that are barely anything more than purchased assets resold as games and 2) a severe decline in quality from the biggest publishers in the industry, as development time is cut to a bare minimum to compete with the influx of games in the market. Consumers are watching AAA games get released with day one patches that still leave the game a horrible, buggy mess, and 95% of the remaining games being complete garbage. Consumer trust in the industry will fall, and I expect to see things implode by the end of the decade. The industry will never die at this point. The Maddens and Call of Duties will continue to be released, but the high end artistic games with real stories to tell will become harder to find, and they will be made with smaller development teams from the Indie scene, similar to the micro computer game market in Europe in that same time.
Why the fuck is this tagged as csgo?
ОтветитьIt HAS to be great in terms of price / performance. If it's as expensive as a PS5 it's DOA
ОтветитьWhen is the deckard coming doe
ОтветитьI was honestly expecting a steam controller 2.0 right around the release of the steam deck. The deck's handheld inputs are so good right now that docking it and using a separate controller makes it worse than handheld mode. The OG steam controller really never left gimmick territory and the whole lack of a right stick was a terrible move. It'd be a giant shot in the foot to not release a better controller alongside this thing
