Michael is strategic; so, yes, I concur with this analysis…
ОтветитьI don't think Regent is what Michael wanted. He wanted survival. Even as early as stopping McClusky at the hospital his father was linked to the family's. He's one of the people the family's enemies have to take out to be safe. He can't opt out, can't just get a job at United Insurance and live in the suburbs with Kay. He's down himself to have his and brains and so he can't be left alive.
ОтветитьA big problem a lot of Michael's enemies had was believing their own propaganda. They wanted to make people believe the Courleons were weak, but Michael was a stone cold killer and tactical genius. He murdererld a police captain and a mob boss in front of several witnesses and got away with it. This should have been a signal that he's not to be underestimated. Moe Green was in the room with the muscle who could take him out but says it didn't exist.
ОтветитьYou need to read the book, forget about the movie. Every thing is in the book
ОтветитьMoe Greene was a typical Jew. Money hungry loser.
ОтветитьKeep these coming…great stuff!
ОтветитьHere I thought I would learn something new by watching this video, I think this guy narrating just likes to hear himself talk.
ОтветитьMichael had superior espionage and could suspend his ego when necessary, especially when it's necessary to appear weak when you are strong. The shadow of appearing strong when weak. And if you can keep them guessing which place you're in, you'll (probably) win.
ОтветитьThank you for this great essay!
ОтветитьAhh...so THIS is "The Room Where it Happens." - Hamilton
ОтветитьGreene was a hot head with a big mouth Michael knew exactly what he was doing. Michael always intended to take mo out and barzini. He already knew what was going on before hand. He needed proof and validation before making his move.
ОтветитьWhere can I get the film clips that were edited out of the movie “The Godfather”?
ОтветитьYes to a Mo Green video.
Ответить👏👏 great video, thank you. I think Michael began to change in the war and in the Army. Joining / volunteering, feeling patriotic, and doing one's duty are all feelings of a all volunteer military. Particularly when one believes it's a just cause. But reality and the cruelty of the war, politics of the military all play a part in teaching valuable lessons. Michael was a hero. But he was definitely over the military and was in a state of Flux after returning home. The " hit" on the Don and the assault and traitorous acts by the police chief all help mold the Michael Corleone we see later in the movie. Apolonia's death was the last straw. His last chance at living a somewhat normal existence.
ОтветитьI agree but I don't think we should be taking lessons from these people. Working together is the way honest people prosper. These are murdering monsters. It is war and we can enjoy a good battle. We certainly don't care who gets whacked because they all deserve it. That is the movie quality that gets us hooked. You and I recognize the artistry of the actors, sets, script, and directing. Just wonderful and the Acadamy recognised it.
Ответитьwhat a waste of 2 minutes
ОтветитьMoe Green taking a round in the eye while on a massage table...was one of the most shocking / unforgettable scenes to me when i first watched this movie as a young man. Pure brut violence.
John Cazale's role as Fredo was amazing. It's relatively straightforward to play a heavy, but portraying a coward takes some real skill to make it look realistic. A fantastic actor.
So whats the hidden secret that we all apparently missed?? 🤷♂️
ОтветитьI much prefer Moe Greene over all the Corleones and Tom Hagen combined.
ОтветитьInteresting and informative. Just another pair of treacherous mobsters working the rackets in Las Vegas. Excellent bullseye 🎯 shot to Moe’s eveball 👁Remember Virginia Hill whom was out of town on the night of Siegels assination.
ОтветитьThe scene also contains the strange voice over, "I talked to Barzini" that was obviously added in post-production.
ОтветитьGenerally speaking, raising your hands to a made guy, or the close relative of a made guy is a death sentence. Publicly striking the son of the head of a family? Moe was very lucky that he went as quickly as he did.
ОтветитьThirteen minutes into an eighteen minute video, and you're still promising details... ...and it's all generalities and blah, blah, blah. Downvoted for bullshit clickbait title.
ОтветитьHow come Sal Tessio had none of his own people around when he was taken on his last ride? He asked Tom Hagen "can you get me off the hook"? Hagen says "Sorry Salie" to which Tessio replies said "it was only business"
ОтветитьNeed a barzini pre-Qual
ОтветитьThis episode doubles very nicely as a uselful anger management advice video.
ОтветитьHere's the flip side Could it be that being extremely stoic can lead you to being anhedonic where you don't enjoy pleasure?.
ОтветитьIt was my favorite show and it still is.
Ответить“Mike! You don't come to Las Vegas and talk to a man like Moe Greene like that!”
The beginning of the end for Fredo.
Keep ‘em comin’!
ОтветитьMoe Greene playing the "Barzini" card was a bad move, especially thinking it would strike fear in Michael heart. The way Michael did not respond after that, Greene needed to make plans hunkering down.
ОтветитьThis is a great idea and lesson in life . Always use self control and confidence that you will win
ОтветитьNever tell anybody outside the family what your thinking again.
ОтветитьI knew when I first saw the movie that Moe should never had mentioned that he talked to Brazini and could make a deal with him. He should have kept that information to himself. Whatever Moe thought of Fredo disrespecting him in public was also a mistake. Reports about Moe's conduct toward Fredo were certain to get back to Vito and Michael.
ОтветитьThe scene of Mike telling Fredo ‘Never take sides against the family - again.” Looks identical to my dad.
ОтветитьHe didn’t stand up to shake hands with Mo Greene.
From that point it’s obvious, he doesn’t respect him
The Italian mob are really working for the Jewish
ОтветитьMo Green brought up talking to Barzini, Michael immediately changed the subject and focused on Fredo. He didn’t want Mo to realize he made a costly mistake. He sided with the enemy and conspired against the Corleone Family. Beautiful way to utilize smokescreens to throw your enemy off the scent. Michael definitely read the laws of power.
ОтветитьYou said nothing new or things that were unknown….
ОтветитьLove the plot
ОтветитьThis was phenomenal keep doing the work!
ОтветитьMy favorite was when he said I'll show up to the meeting and planning the gun in the restaurant that showed me he was a real killer and he was in the military 🪖 so to say he was weak he wasn't that should been the first thought that the family should of known as well.
ОтветитьSTAY COOL
ОтветитьIt was just another class A scene from the GF, We all knew or found out later who Moe was based on same with Hyman Roth, Bugsy and Meyer,, This is fiction and Michael is way too ruthless ,ok he has to make some deals but the money he's earning owning 3 casino's and He has no competition plus Las Vegas is considered open country but don't form a family. Mike Is worth Hundreds of millions and the IRS don't take him the Al Capone way??
ОтветитьHorrible commentary
ОтветитьToo long and too drawn out. Waste of my time. Keep it short and sweet
ОтветитьYou mean fraudulent families
ОтветитьMichael Corleone returned from war with a soft and friendly demeanor. He seemed happy and even amused by his family's mob politics at the wedding. He became very hard of heart and cold blooded quickly once he stepped foot into that life.
Ответитьnone of this is hidden
