I have a Roku tv and I put the antenna plug in to the rf in but it’s not working

I connected my digital converter box and it just gives me some snow no image or whatsoever,can you tell me if you know why this happens

Thank you - what a great instructional video. Your tv may have died in the end, but along the way I learned a lot. I like that you gave more than just a simple setup tutorial. I learned about the different labels I might encounter and that some input ports may look different than others. That kind of information is so nice to have; now I won't be alarmed if my tv looks different than yours.

Analog television services are still working pretty much better in my country Sri Lanka although the people are using internet streaming to watch live tv including myself. crt tvs are kind of a decoration in every home in sri Lanka. We admire the old technology and use it too even while using the latest technology. From my point of view crt tvs are more durable than latest smart tvs. I have a crt tv too which my parents bought even before I was born, I'm 18 years old now and my crt is older than me. all functions are working excellently including the original remote controller. I don't often watch it but sometimes I turn it on and watch couple of programmes on analog tv it takes me back in time to my early childhood, The time i was an enfant.

Considering buying a boombox with analog tv. This is helpful looking for a tiny digital converter that I can solder internally to the power, antenna, audio and tv.

i ask my self if it can be possible to convert the signal like it would be the old, and i thinkt it can be possible, maybe with a little raspberry pi, that all old channels could also work, because you have more, it would be nice to use these as they where in the past, and not on one channel only and you need a remote control for the device but not for the tv, i would be also better to have only one remote control on the table

I have a Magnovox TB100MG9 converter box and TV. Why can't I get the converter box to turn on? There is no light when pointing the remote to the converter box?

You'll get a more fluid motion if you use 480i rather than 480p. This is because a CRT TV uses interlaced video which draws at 60 fields a second. Use progressive could combine or ship a field and just double it since it just has a solid frame 30 frames per second. A tube TV probably won't understand a progressive scan anyway. It's really for the later CRT TVs and early flat screens.

my cable company Spectrum, has sent new equipment to everyone and the digital converter box they had supplied years ago with the discontinuation of analog signal, no longer works. Does this mean they have done something to that signal that if I purchased a digital converter box of my own, the signal would still not work?

TV station exciters, 200 watts, have occasionally turned up on air, especially in urban locations. They also run the old TV's well. I watched a few non-syndicated children's shows. Good content for all ages.

For European PAL only TVs that accepts NTSC on SCART input, use RCA to SCART adapter. TVs in St. Pierre et Miquelon are mostly imported from Europe or France. You can use ATSC box in SPM to receive Canadian DTV channels nearby Canadian island but St Pierre and Miquelon used DVB-T(2).

As that Digital TV converter box looks like GMA Affordabox in the Philippines, most GMA (Global Media Arts) analog, cable and digital TV channels are now widescreen but still 4:3 aspect ratio. Logo display are still widescreen but some 4:3 non-widescreen programming are still stretched 4:3 (no black bars on the other vertical sides).

GMA AFFORDABOX ISDB-T converter box only use NTSC for RCA, but you can use HDMI TO RF (PAL NTSC with menu and remote control)

I'm sorry for the loss of your CRT tv I am more of a CRT guy myself and I rescued an older analog tv from being dumped in the scrap yard I dragged it home and plugged into my antenna and it was working perfectly with out a converter box on a older tuner it's weird that my analog tv was displaying NTSC for several years and the FBI never had any problems with my tv 😢

it is unfortunate that the late 90s tv you have died. my grandmother has a orion crt tv from 1994 in romania, it still works and it has 2 mono composive video conectors

For CRT TVs it is recommended to use the RCA or SCART connector for high quality picture. On RF the picture looks average, on RCA/SCART the picture looks excellent. Of course if the TV has RCA or SCART input. The European Converter Boxes no longer have RF output so you have HDMI out and SCART or RCA out, since our TVs use SCART connection, there are RCA to SCART adapters and work both ways, it has a button that switches between IN and OUT. There are some FHD and 4K receivers that have an AV output connector similar to jack 3.5 mm the same connector that older camcorders have.
