I really don't understand you or many like you...everyone thanks for what they represent...ok...I understand that because if you don't praise then you don't sell...and if you don't sell then you don't make any money so you are hungry for bread. ..what I don't understand is the following, how is it possible that everything you present is as God-given...what you say here is the same as what you said about the katana and the white one in some video, I don't remember the brand...come on, answer why you are lying to people. .why do you like it ...what are your urges for it ...what drives you to do it .....????🤔

I never had a Vox or thought much about them until I heard one at the music store. The gain was just right. A light touch was clean and a little aggression was able to be coaxed from the instrument. Jazz, blues, early rock, surf, spaghetti Western and country all sound great. Basically Vox is very convincing within the popular styles of the 50s through to the 70s. I'm a minimalist and leaning towards, a one pickup p90 guitar, and no pedals. This kind of amp would be good for that. It has a nice voice.

That's really interesting about the AC-15's reverb. It sounds a whole lot like the reverb on the Pathfinder 15r that I thought was 'cheap sounding.' Apparently, this is just how Vox does their reverbs.🤷‍♂

You probably need to upgrade the reverb tank. The one it comes with is pretty bad. Also since you expressed concern with your neighbors, get an attenuator. Especially if you record at home, the Two Notes Captor X is a great choice because it's so many things in one including attenuator that you don't need an fx loop for. Yeah the price is insane new (600) but I recently got one new off Reverb for $379. Good luck. Vox is the best amp ever imo

I think it’s important to “spend some time” with a new amp before doing a review, because you only get to the things you dislike after a while. The first impression is almost always a good one as it’s only about the tone, which is mostly good with almost any tube amp above a certain price category. …But yeah, those ARE very good amps ; )

P.S. If you run across one of the Vox Valvetronix amps, the older ones, they are fantastic too. Not tube, but they are versatile as hell, and you can play at a bedroom volume
and not disturb everyone. Just suggestions. The AC15 might be better for gigs or rehearsal. The AC30 I know for sure is far too loud for apt. use. I think. Actually, sorry,
some of the older Valvetronix amps DO have a tube preamp section!

I had to move out of my last apt., because there was no literally zero soundproofing, at all, and cramped quarters, so I had to leave. I couldn't even turn the TV on or
a home theater without someone complaining, or my hearing everyone else's noise, esp. the unit opposite mine. I couldn't even play guitar. It was destroying my
health, my sanity, my mood, etc., so I left and rented a small house instead the past three years. I can sit here and play my six guitars and at least as many amps,
including my newer Vox VX50 modeling amp, and really let rip sometimes and apparently nobody hears a thing, since the house has great soundproofing and
is almost 85 years old. How do you even play in an apartment? Usually loud amps are bad news in apts. I love the Vox VX50 because it has enough power to
blow the windows out, if I want it to, or, you can attenuate it and play at bedroom volume at most. It's fantastic, small, and, has the amp models and FX. It is tube
although it's NuTube etc. I also have the mini baby Vox amp with modeling, which is fun. I haven't had the need for an AC30 or AC15, or the money, but
they're fantastic of course. If you get a good treble booster or good high gain overdrive pedal you can get some Rory Gallagher blues action out of the Vox amps, as he did
with the AC30. I try to play my loudest rock stuff during the day anyway, because nobody is around anyhow, and don't give a f--k! Thank God. I also got myself
the Zoom G1X4 processor, great fun if you don't mind learning how to edit patches and pedals etc. and fiddling with knobs and buttons. I got a great Flock of
Seagulls sound out of it! LOL If I plug my 12-string into the Vox and run it on the Vox TB channel with a bit more gain, I can get power and jangle like you've never heard. I also
have a small Roland amp, and it also loves the 12-string, or vice versa.

Always loved tube amps! Went from Marshall 1/2 stacks, to twins and club 50s. All really heavy and tough to load in and out of most gigs. A friend turned me on to Vox with an AC4, loved it, but too small for most gigs- then I got a AC15. So far it keeps up and makes great tone. Great video and channel!

However there was a cable there so I used that. The best thing, I didn't end up going to that university anyway.

The thing about vox amps is that you have to play the real deal to understand what they’re all about. For whatever reason modeling amps and amp sims never come close to getting the sound right.

Tip from an AC30 player for life. The TB circuit is the weakest part of the amp. It's great if you're using zero pedals and want some gain to play dad riffs. But when using it as a pedal platform, where you want to add different types of gain it becomes a hat on a hat. Gain pedals loose some oomph with it. Plus being stuck in perm OD can suck for textures and dynamics.

The real secret is adding compression then gain ( any style of your choosing) into the Normal channel. I use the JHS Whitey Tighty compressor into a TC Mini Spark as my always on. It gives you loads of clean headroom but the comp and boost add db and push the amp a bit harder than just plugging straight in. I keep it clean so when I add OD it sounds like OD and isn't lost like it would be in the TB channel. It's very bell like and chimey, which complements my delay and reverb. It's the secret sauce to Vox amps. You lose some tone settings, as Normal only uses the Normal, Tone Cut, and Master knobs. But honestly, get your tone from your guitar. The amp will make that tone sing. Simplicity is key here.

Forget your pedalboard? Use the TB. Want to really hear a Vox by taking advantage of the circuit with a few simple pedals? Use the Normal channel.

I just found this video three months later. I've had mine for nine years and it's one of my two favorite guitar amps. The other is a 6G2 '62 Brownface Princeton that I run with my AC15C1.
First recommendation is for the ABY pedal. The basic Morley ABY works great for me. You get (A) Normal Channel, (B) Top Boost Channel and (Y) both channels run parallel. the (Y) cannel is like a fatter, fuller Top Boost channel.
I found the stock (Belton) reverb tank to be a bit too kerrang-y. I swapped in a MOD reverb tank. I used the medium decay, but if you like a more ambient reverb, use the long decay.
The stock Celestion Greenback is a great speaker. My taste leaned more to the Celestion Alnico Blue for a bit more of a vintage tone.

Anyone want to buy my AC15C1? I've had it for about 10 years and can't stand it. Has to be cranked for the gain to sound decent, and that volume it'll make you deaf pretty quickly. Even then, the lack of gain compression sucks. This is a clean amp only.

The way you acted when you were using the Top Boost Channel is misleading. It may cause people to think that by selecting the top boost channel you have increased the volume and or gain of the amp. merely by using the Top Boost Channel. I have a Vox AC15C1VB (Vintage Black) so I am speaking from actual ownership and I have the Vox Owners Manual. In all the Voc AC amplifiers "The Top Boost" channel allows for control over the Tone and Bass using the Tone and Bass knobs and the Normal Channel does not. So when using the Normal Channel you can not use the Tone Knobs to adjust the Treble and or Bass. That is the actual difference. The name Top Boost is a little misleading as it does not provide any volume boost or additional gain than does the Normal Channel. However because the Top Boost Channel allows control over the Treble and Bass frequencies using the Tone Knobs you can use these Tone controls to add in additional gain and volume by rolling up the Treble and Bass frequencies, and that is why they call it a Top Boost. The same is true for every Treble and Bass tone control on every tube amp. using Tone and Bass it is possible to make the amp louder or softer. Very few amps (actually I can not think of any) that have a channel that does not control treble and bass. The normal channel of the Vox is the only one that is like that-no control over treble and bass. I want to add that even though the normal channel can't adjust treble and bass it still sounds great, striking a very good balance between the two.
