ОтветитьHello, wondering if you could help (or one of your viewers) me with a stubborn problem I am having with my epson 3880 printer.
I have had it disconnected from a computer for about a year, (moving and storage). I just recently tried to reconnect to a newer computer (running windows 10 version 21H2). But regardless of what I try I cannot get it to work with the computer. I can print a test page (nozzle check) using the manual inputs on the printer, and run a cleaning. But I cannot run a nozzle check using the computer utility. I am able to ‘add’ a printer, but it does not seem to be able to do it all automatically. I have to manual select the ‘port’, and have tried quite a few different ones. I have tried different usb cables just in case that was the issue, but to no avail. And oddly, I have both a 7880 and 9880 which work fine after having upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on the same computer system. I have never had the 3880 working with this computer before. It was attached to an older computer running windows 7. When I tried to connect back to the old computer running windows 7, the same problem occurred. Have no idea why it worked before for years, and then would not work afterwards, I have run the 'trouble shooter many times, and it always says 'it was not able to resolve the issue'. Also when I try to download the drivers, I am not able to do it automatically, it forces me to do it manually going through the process of choosing which printer port to use, I usually choose the one that I am using for the 7880 or 9880.
Again I can ‘add’ a new printer on the old computer, but when I try to run a nozzle check using the ‘utility’, it says, ‘error unable to run nozzle check’. When I try to access other utilities such as status of ink levels, it states ‘unable to communicate with printer’.
I have tried numerous times to remove the printer (3880), and delete all the drivers and reinstall them, but nothing seems to help. I have even tried to use the original disc that came with the 3880, and it will not work either.
Hopefully you can offer some solutions, or direct me to where I might find some direction on how to fix this.
