Finally saw one in Iceland. Loved it in person, looks better than in pictures and video. And Yes, the new Defender is to posh, this should have the the new Discovery instead.

I'd love one, but here in Norway they start at about £100K, rendering them unsuitable as a utility vehicle.

I was a mechanic in the British Army for 14 years and spent a lot of time working on defenders and have a loyalty to them but this vehicle is superb from what I have seen, if I where going to reinvent the defender it probably wouldn’t be far from this, BMW reliability and a solid 4x4 setup on a ladder chassis what’s not to love👍

The new defender is trying to be everything to everybody. The market isn't just the farm and adventurous weekend offroaders. So it's apples and oranges when it comes to the comparison.

Most U.K. manufactured vehicles are maintenance nightmares, so let's hope the factory in France builds a reliable machine. The BMW engine and transmission are well tested and should be good for this application.

It’s as close to a defender as it can be tall folk like me still don’t fit in it, sad that it doesn’t cater for all just the small folk and rich folk, I’ll,stick with the Landcruiser icon at least the Japanese cater for big folk. Really hoped I’d be able to own one but the 2024 Land Cruiser has just been revealed so will stay with Toyota as that is a much better motor

Having owned Landrover Defenders and still own Landrovers ,Ineos have got these vehicles dead right.I am sold on what I have seen and will be in the market for a new vehicle in the near future.Sorry Landrover your last Defender build quality and reliabilty was and still is very poor.
I cant wait to see the swb.I am prepared to pay the current price.

BMW engines don’t sound like a great idea for a car that is to be kept for a decade.

It would be nice if someone tested it with fully loaded, so far I have not seen any reviews that show this, wonder why ?

How big of a tyre can you put on it?

It has similar specs. to my 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock, but it costs a lot more, and it's somewhat fussier. Still, it beats the new Defenders.

The Land Rover will get you anywhere, but The Land Cruiser will get you back

If you want something to last 15 years buy a Landcruiser nothing else compares. Grenadier is a parts bin.

This is not a replacement for the Defender. It's a rich man's box of tricks and gadgets. Cant even take the roof off. Yeech!

It will be build in Britain and will cost around 40k of funny money. Reality - due to Brexit - which was strongly supported - it´s build in France (of all countries, the irony) and cost 65k.

I drive a TD5 Defender which I've had for 7 years. I would love to have this Grenadier in my garage alongside my old faithful. Gutsy design. Love it.

Land Rover like most companies these days are being run by school children !!!! They have missed the biggest trick in the book have they not ??? They have pandered to the so called fashion brigade. The look how wealthy I am bunch ..Or look how cool i am .. Range Rover has always been a so called status car but the defenders were not
they were used by most working folk farmers mountain rescue etc etc Sadly as always we get great ideas great cars and then build rubbish !! Sell the great ideas on to others that then capitalise .How many times have we seen this ?

I also think Landrover went over the edges and going to fancy. I'm a big fan of the Series Landrovers for work, offroading and also traveling. Yes, not much comfort, but they got me everywhere and back. I would choose to go even more basic and cheaper with the grenadier if i could wish for it.

Today marks two full weeks awaiting a response from Ineos for a rejected vehicle, that was returned 3 weeks ago. Their own Customer Services department can’t get a response from “management” at HQ. No comms, no refund, hands down the worst automotive customer services experience of a lifetime!
