With an R5 1600X, yeah I need an upgrade.

I bought a 7700X but I'm still rocking my 5950X rig.

This vid was the deciding factor for me. Going 7700x + 4090 as the powerful gpu hardware acceleration on top of the 7700x should more than take care of my video editing needs.

I absolutely love your conclusion! It's really consumer focused! However, I decided to buy a 7 7700X because it was on sale here in Germany... I mostly use my PC for work (and a bit of gaming on the side) and just love my new rig. I upgraded from an overclocked FX8350 and the difference is just astounding.

7700x for $300 was a steal. I think it's a great way to get into the AM5 platform.

could you add idle power consumption to your test suite? seems like an extremely easy test to do

Picked this up on sale for $285 and got a free game jedi survivor. Pretty sick deal considering i wanted to buy the game anyway, and wanted expo ddr5. Good times.

Pricy cpu and motherboards am5 is skippable until am6 is coming.

I just picked one up at a 40% discount, with a game, plus $40 off with a mobo. Cheaper than an i5, plus the option to uprgade later down the road.

I am running a R5 3500 / Rtx2060 and planning to go to a 7700x (cause the 7900x is out of stock), mainly for game development, 7700x should be sufficient, combined with a rx 6950 xt and 64gb ddr5

If you have a 60-75hz monitor like me, the i3 12100 is perfect for gaming. I switched to an i7 12700k for 240 usd, but it had nothing to do with gaming performance. The best thing about the i3 12100 is that you can have an i7 13700k in the future.

7700x while gaming never goes above 65c

i was building a pc in pcpartpicker for future me and i set in for gpu a 4070ti and i was wondering what is a good cpu for a 4070ti and one of the sites gave me this video.

Just got one of these and ditched my i9700. 👍 BTW, I both game and do audio production work so it's the best of both worlds.

I just grabbed this for $300 to upgrade my i7-8700, which has been struggling lately. I fit right into the "gaming plus some productivity" category, and that price seems like a steal to me.

The 7700x is now 320-330 brand new on Amazon with the 7900x selling for 420 new. They’re both a way better value now

thanks for the perspective and trying to keep people grounded. i mainly play star citizen in 1440 (hoping to go 4k) and it's a cpu heavy game. i watch a streamer play star citizen and is using a 5800x3d and he's getting good frames and i'm hoping when the 7700x3d comes out the cache will be huge. idk what state/level games are right now that require something more than a 5800x3d as most games seem gpu bound at 1440 & 4k. looking forward to your reviews on the 7000 x3d series.

Ryzen 7 5700x best bang for the buck. Slap it a B550, 32 Gb ram,and see you in 5 years.

Prices are coming down decently now. Got a b650e-f strix board for $70 off, 7700x for $100 off and 32gb of g.skill 6000c32 for $90 off. Not the best deal ever but still solid.

@Gamers Nexus Something's wrong here. I'm on Windows 8.1 x64 with an old Xeon @2.3GHz 8c/16t, 32GB DDR3-1600 + GTX1070@stock and reached average framerate 141.86fps on CS:GO FPSMap v1.01 with the same settings - Very High @ 1080p ... or I'm missing something ?

Edit: For the record I did the test again and on AMD Ryzen 1700 @ stock + 4x8GB DDR4-3600 running at 2133 (default auto BIOS settings) with the same videocard. Average framerate: 230.94 ... Something is wrong here, probably the in-game video settings (but they look the same in the video

I‘m planning to upgrade to AM5 with an RX 7900 XTX to play in UHD 144Hz.
What do you guys think, 5 7600X or 7 7700X? Will there be any difference in UHD (only for gaming)?
