Just picked it up yesterday .. After the success of baldurs gate 3 I went to look for their previous game... Waited patiently for a sale and it finally happened.. Got the game for 23 dollars.. Have a feeling it will be one of those games I put hundreds of hours into..like the witcher 3..

I bought this game over a year ago and it stayed in its packaging until last month. I decided to start this while I was playing Final Fantasy 16 and Starfield (since those weren’t time consuming enough apparently) and DOS2 is the one that has consumed me. I’ll be finishing this before returning to the others. Great review!

oh my gosh. this review was so painful to watch. growing up on minecraft references. srsly. Those dumb little kid games like Club Penguin used to be mocked by the basement dwelling neckbeard millenials. cuz kids play chit games. Normal people wasted their lives away in world of warcraft anyway. And now that Baldur's Gate 3 is totally sweet. I've clocked in 150 steam hours and just started Act 3 i need to play this game. I found those time to beat numbers pretty fast considering these are loot everything dungeon crawlers. Tho, i never liked turn based games either. those dumb stupid jRPG. But oh my gosh. The combat in BG3 is so thrilling. i love it.

Unique review that I really enjoyed. I have a vast back catalogue of games I’ve been going through before I buy any more and Divinity OS2 is the next cab off the rank :) thanks

Sounds like my expeience with Skyrim. (1500 hours later....) Was thinking Baldur's Gate3 but frankly not to thrilled with all the smuttiness. Also a newbie at thse types of turn based games as I'm more of an Elden Ring guy. This game was recommended as the game to play before you even think of BG3 as it's not as complex. So I think I might indeed take the plunge. PS great vid. Subbed.

Brought this game on a whim a few years ago and i now own it across 3 platforms, theyde also responsible for balders gate 3 which is shaping up to be CRPG of the century

My issue with tactical RPG's is they make you learn unrealistic responses to encounters in order to beat them. Like teleporting the teleporter away right at the start of the encounter. In what scenario would you naturally know to open an encounter like that? Takes some of the immersion and realism out of it for me, especially when you have to repeat encounters over and over in order to "learn" them. Encounters should be organic to be fun, and a lot of tacticals like the Divinity series are NOT.
