ОтветитьThere's been Electric RC airplanes for a long time, but it's going to be a LOT of battery power required to power a commercial jet for any distance.
Like it or not, Fossil Fuels POWERS OUR ECONOMY for the foreseeable future, and while it's GOOD to develop new avenues of Energy and "Clean" machinery, it's NOT "GOOD" to DESTROY the Economy on the PROMISE of "Going Green" when the REALITY is it's still a LONG WAY off.

Except this one stores energy for later. But that energy needs to come from somewhere. Oh yeah... The turbines. So you gain extra power for takeoff and climb out. So your turbines can be smaller. But they work harder during cruise to charge the battery and haul the added weight of battery, motors, cables and regulators.
You'd be better off with a regular motorjet. Or as they're calling them now "compound jet" which makes sense. Studies show a 15-20% fuel savings over turbines.
