Bose 900 Soundbar and 700 Bass Module Open Box and Review

Wow, I couldn’t disagree more. That setup is amazing. If you want a real movie experience then of course you’d never get a sound bar to start with but Bose nailed it with the 900 and 700! They’re worth every penny if you try others and compare. I’d say Sonos gives it a run for its money but not many more at this price point. And yes, you pay for the branding, that’s part of the game in everything, clothes, cars etc.

mmmmm maybe you were stoned when you did this ???? I couldn't disagree with you more on just about everything....love my set up better then my other ones from Samsung and Sonos....you must have hooked something up wrong cause 1000's of reviews love the set up....just sayin

This guy is a Sony guy lol. This sound bar slaps! Mess wit the eq at high volume to get it where you want. Gotta be into audio to understand this sound bar

Terrible review

I 100% agree with this review. As i bought the soundbar last night. Done all configuration. Sound is muffled, not enough dynamic range, and definitely not worth the price. I dont think im allowed to return if i have opened it. My older samsung soundbar sounds very similar and was alot cheaper. Buy it for looks and white colour for decor but dont buy it for best soundbar

I have the same setup and it does SLAP! Not sure why yours sounds muffled! Also the sub is wireless so why did you even use a cable?

They say the sun is wireless but still needs a audio signal cable? WTF, that limits you where you can place it

I’m a new owner of this system. You are buying a sound bar. It will never be or sound like anything more. You need to go into this with some already lower expectations. It will never be a full blown a la cart pieced together surround system. With that being said, it’s pretty good. I needed something easy for my family room setup…i have a 2 year old. Keeping it simple. It’s a medium sized room with 8ft ceilings and perfectly square. Pretty much exactly what you want for an Atmos sound bar. I will also include that my decision to buy the 900 was because of the fact that i had access to a free older Bose soundtouch 300 subwoofer. I learned that it’s the exact same sub as the 700. They just renamed it. When you link the sub to the 900 sound bar on the Bose app the subs name shows up as a 700. So if anyone was wondering if the soundtouch 300 subwoofer works with the 900 sound bar. It does! Same is true for the 300 surround speakers.
I’m pleased with how it sounds in my room. Very balanced and the bar does a great job of placing the sounds correctly. Adaptiq is a must and does make a difference once you get it set up. It’s a simple process.
I did have about a week with the sound bar alone before i was able to get my hands on the sub. I was quite impressed with the bass. It’s not gonna shake anything but it’s there. But after setting up 300/700. Very nice. Fills the room and then some. Plus it allows the 900 to work more efficiently and do it’s thing without having to produce all those low notes. I’m very pleased. I don’t remember the sub sounding this good when it was part of the 300 system. Some definite software tweaks I’m sure. What’s even better is i think if i remember correctly you can add a second sub 700 to the mix. Something I’m going think about.
So like i said above, understand you are buying a sound bar and you might be pleasantly surprised.

I tested the Bose 900 with the 700 sub and the jbl 9.1 soundbar with the sub the Jbl sounds more dynamic to me so we kept the Jbl…

⁉️ Question. I have the Bose 900 Soundbar with 700 bass module. The first few months everything worked great but one day about a month and half ago there was a burning smell coming from the subwoofer and ever since that day we had to turn the bass down to level 0 (had it on 3) and when the bass hit it makes loud popping sounds -I looked at it and it's because it's jumping up and down moving all around like crazy on the hardwood floors. It never moved at all previously. Also before that you could turn the bass level as high as you would like and it still sounded good, and didn't move around. Do you know what would have caused this or have you heard about this from other people?

I recently purchased the soundbar 700 and sub 500. The bs cumbersome set up took a couple of days to complete. The end result was okay but didn’t justify the cost. I probably could’ve settled for something less expensive with better delivery.

Just got the 900 very disappointed; sounds rather tinny. Been adjusting levels; keep trying to tell myself it's ok. Not sure it is any better than the Sony HT-ST7 it is replacing

I’ve tried playing with the settings and running adaptiq calibration a few times. I want to love this soundbar so badly, because it just looks amazing, but without the sub it is mediocre AT BEST. 95% of the sound comes from the center of the speaker- And the sound that comes out of it is not rich or deep. It’s very flat and plain. Not bad just not anything special at all for the price. Was hoping for an amazing experience but just left wanting more. I have portable Bluetooth speakers that put out better sound so I just don’t get what they were doing when they made this. It’s just confusing. With the sub it’s not bad for the the average every day listener. The sub sounds like what you’d expect. Rich, Deep, technical, tight and responsive. The soundbar is just VERY vanilla for the cost.
Then you find yourself wanting more sound so you consider the 700 surrounds for another $500+ and people are saying they’re quiet.. just seems like they tried too hard on this system idk Hope in a couple years they come out with a good upgrade

How do you sync them together the sound bar in the subwoofer

probably the audio settings are not set properly.I got mine at 70 - 90- 60- 30- 60. Mine sounds outstanding.

Dumb review. You do NOT need an aux cable. You connect the subwoofer to soundbar easily via Bluetooth in about 5 seconds.

Hello. I don't have a TV. Can I connect my phone to this soundbar using bluetooth so that music from the phone is played on the soundbar?

I agree with this important information, I bought soundboard 900 and module 700, but I am disappointed with this product sound is deficient and gets damaged very easily. I do not recommend this system.

I been having the Bose sound bar 700 with the module and the SR speakers for years. Never had and issue with it. U just need to learn how to set it up the right way. This little shits are loud asf. I know the price is expensive for a lot of people. But everyone has there opinion on what they like. I been blasting this speakers everyday to the max. I had cops coming to my house cause the Neighbor’s from 3 houses away were feeling the bass from one module sub. Imagine if u get another one lol. But like I said u need to learn how to hook this things up to the max. Also I recommend to turn off the Dialogue mode off when hearing music and set the setting to 100 with Apple Music u will hear the difference trust me. Then turn it back on for movies. This things will shake your house and the neighbor’s.

Isn't the sub Bluetooth? Why you need the aux cable?

You didn't mention if you used the AdaptIQ headset to calibrate the system. Other reviews say this makes a huge difference. I have one and can confirm it does.

You need to take this video down. This review is wacko, all of the comments are disagreeing from your review. This combination is one of the best and cleanest set up for surround sound. 900 and 700 Bose is awesome!
