I've been using screen and add for like 10 years :(

For so long I’ve been trying to figure out how to get my fog to match correctly, and would be so mad when the fog lightens the scene cause it looks so unrealistic… and I KNEW it was something so simple.. and finally you showed me the way!! Thank you so much

Another option I use is "Set Matte" to grab the alpha from luminance and "Remove Color Matting" to kill the black fringes.

Good solution. Only problem: If I use masks, I can see the edges of the fog clip again. Maybe precomp first helps. Nope, I´ve tried it, didn`t work.
