Thank you for the great video.
I have watched dozens of reviews.
I haven’t bought an expensive on yet….
I will be using it in mountain biking in the wooded areas of the Scottish Borders
Recommendation’s ?
Thanks
S
overpriced junk.
consider this.... do the cost math on that table of mini-cameras. and youll get about 1/4 towards a new Yamaha Tenere lol or buy a used KLR outright. insanity anyone would pay that
GoPro 7&10 and frustrated 😂
ОтветитьYou should do a review with the new GoPro Hero 12 using the Bluetooth linked to your helmet comm....very curious to see how it works! Does it capture just 1 comm or all connected comms on the bluetooth GP Hero 12
ОтветитьI got an osmo action... It leaked out of the box... would never seal up.
I got it to film underwater fishing salmon and such....
WARNING...
if you do not register it with the chinese spyware, it will brick you out after a few uses.
lucky to get 10 minutes filming if it is below freezing.
still using after 3 years, but it is barely hanging in there.
Boa tarde!!
ОтветитьI started w early Hero models, for motorcycle touring , each lasting a year before failing. These day I'll m looking for one for off road/dirt track Go Kart racing, this video was very informative. Thank you.
ОтветитьPerhaps I missed it, but does the insta camera support third party mic adapters? I'm planning on ditching my gopro and this is the characteristic I'm looking for
ОтветитьInstasub.
I came here because of the cameras. Now I have to check your content.
I followed your progress with similar results. GoPro with all its issues. Then I switched to the Insta360 RS and I was impressed. To that i added the Rode wireless mic setup. But my latest is the Osmo Action 4 with the DJI wireless mic set. So far it is outstanding! I can control the gain on the microphone and in the camera. Late last night I mounted the mic in my helmet but I haven’t tried it that way yet.
Ответитьtbh I still think the Hero 7 is the best used camera to buy for motovlogging. I'm currently using the OneRS too but I'm not happy that the audio is mono only and at a low bit rate.
ОтветитьI had a go pro but the over heat
ОтветитьI have been looking for a camera for my bike when I ride but I have heard nothing good about gopro and now I don’t know what one to get but I would just be using it for making random vids when I ride or just safety
ОтветитьI really like my original Osmo Action, but I think it lacks a remote control for use at the rear of the bike. Regarding the sound. I bought a microphone, cut a sponge into a 4x4x4cm square, made a hole that fitted the microphone and taped it to the back of my helmet to get the sound from the exhaust. Working well below 80kmh😉😉
ОтветитьWhat mounts do you use for on helmet? Trying to get a recommendation for a Schuberth C5
ОтветитьWhy One RS and not X3?
ОтветитьGoPro should gracefully bow out of the game. Predictably the Hero 12 will crash and overheat often. Action 4 is my go-to favorite.
ОтветитьWhat camera has less wind noise? I used multiple cameras all have a lot of wind noise.........
Ответитьdo you have a recommendation for a front and rear facing camera?
ОтветитьThank for this content, it is the first time that I’ve come across your channel. I bought the one RS last year to record my rides but when I download idea and try to edit it, I find that it is quite involved and my technological knowledge is apparently lacking. Be and ride safe.
ОтветитьNow that you have used the Osmo 4 how would you rate it against the 360?
ОтветитьStill using the original osmo and it still records 1hr nonstop. Gopros jist couldn't stand the heat. It stops recording everytime and freezes.
ОтветитьI have a drift xl ghost, the quality is crap at night,But i use an a external mic and put it at the back of my helmet to stop wind resistant
Ответить3.40 Adam Sandler
ОтветитьStill rocking my GoPro 2....Lol.....it's a tank, No software issues, Basic 3.5mm Audio port, simplicity is king. I don't record Often though....so it works for me right now just average use. Image quality is sort of a gimmick today, people need to understand you Can't get better than 4k....you cannot fit more pixels in a screen, it's impossible, nor can the human eye "see" better than that I believe.....so be careful when people advertise false claims about image quality getting better....companies will certainly try, and I'm sure people will fall for it.
ОтветитьI use a GoPro hero 7 black and have for years now, experienced only 1 lock up so far, other than that, no issues (also use 3rd party batteries). I use it with a foam wind slayer and it's great for me. Never wanted to spend $50 for the mic adapter but I don't care about recording my own speech so that is ok. At lower speeds it even picks up my audio really well... Perhaps the insta360 x3 will be my next one...
ОтветитьUseful tip,thks.
Ответить@DorkintheRoad New to moto cams, not needing for content creation but for all the hit and run, you said Ghost XL had less quality then the others, Go Pro or Insta for the win? Thank you!
Ответитьi was hoping youd recommend some affordable chinese crap ;
yall presented top shelf, top dollar stuff
For some reason footage did nor seem the same quality or as clear on the insta360. Not sure why?
ОтветитьNice to hear the insta is working well. I'm interested in adding a secondary 360 camera later but what I would say about the Osmo action 3 setup that I use is that getting 2 tracks of audio separately is a gamechanger if anyone wants to up their sound game on motovlogs.
I use the DJI wireless mic set with the osmo action 3 and I get left and right channels from separate microphones that I can place where ever I may choose. This is the best way to get near flawless audio as I can also adjust the gain separately on both channels.
I ofcourse blend the channels together in post to get perfect stereo sound from each side.
Motorcycle sounds can be absolutely perfect but so can the helmet audio. Then there is slightly more to be done on the edit but not much after you get the levels right straight on the mics. Plus this way there is no need to sync audio between the channels as both are written in to the helmet camera video file directly.
Maybe I should make a video about this but historically these tech videos do not perform well on my channel...
Thanks for the video, I share all of your frustrations concerning the GoPro's. I'm done with GoPro, the Insta360 will be my next set of cameras. I'm not even concerned about recording with an external mic any longer, as I started using a Digital Recorder for my voice. What I do need is a camera that will allow me to connect an external battery as I tend to run 4-5 cams on the bike continuously. Is there a way to connect external power to the Insta360 cams? Looking at starting off with a Insta360 ONE RS.
ОтветитьHey Dork. Im looking at the insta360 through your affiliate link. Would you recommend there motorcycle kit or should i just get the camera and go elsewhere for the mounting equipment? Thanks! Love the channel!
ОтветитьThere's just one issue that ruins Insta360 cameras for my motovlog type use case. I don't stop/restart my cameras when on the bike, I record continuously where possible and with the One RS, One R, One X/X2/X3, every 30 minutes (in most recording modes) the camera has to stop recording, save that segment and then restart recording. You lose anything from a few seconds to over a minute where nothing has been recorded, depending on camera model and recording mode. It frustrates me as much as the mic gain frustrates you with DJI cameras! It's a deal breaker... GoPros (even the Max) do not have this problem which is a major plus in my book.
Ответитьi bought a camera through your amazon affiliate link can you tell me if your link worked?
ОтветитьThis video was so helpful thank you. I appreciate the cut the bs. I watched a lot of other videos that kept comparing footage, but I know that there are a lot of factors that affect that, like the way your monitor/phone screen is calibrated. My friend has the 360x3 (?) and loves it, but I wanted to know more before I just drop all the money on something like that
ОтветитьThanks a lot! It was very useful! Will treat my man with a cool camera for his motorbike vlogging/action videos! 😂
ОтветитьThank you for the video!
If I watched this some time ago, I could have saved a lot of hazzle. I am just about to sell my GoPro 10 because it keeps breaking down (with it being in the MediaMod case means that I‘ll have to unscrew it, take it out, take the battery out, put it back in), at least 50% of my audio doesn‘t work as expected (I have 400 hours of VLOG from Scotland to cut but about 200hrs don’t have sound or I don’t understand what I was saying, so now I have to try to recall the content to be able to re-create my talking somehow - that’s some nerve wrecking extra effort) and all the other hazzle you described.
I though about buying the One RS instead, now after your video I am sure to do exactly this! 👍😎
Thank you!
Have you experienced overheating and the device shutting off to cool down? This Amazon Prime day sale it cost $359 for Twin edition. Looks tempting
ОтветитьWhy not use HJC Smart 10A or SENA Momentum Pro integrated helmets?
ОтветитьWhy are you trying to plug mics into action cameras 😂
ОтветитьThank you for showing the best options in what to me is a minefield of "tech" and "fluff" and misinformation. :>)
ОтветитьThank you I use the ghost but am looking for a better camera, I have found the ghost okay but would like a better camera and you have answered a lot of my questions 👍
ОтветитьGreat content! Exactly what I was looking for thanks!
ОтветитьThankyou for the review. I use an Osmo with the cheapest (like $1) external mic which is tucked inside the flip helmets chin wind shield. All these condenser mics have huge amounts of gain and just gives horrible distortion. Easy to fix, solder, as a suggestion, a 150 Ohm resistor across the mic element contacts. Still too high then just solder a lower value resistor. No need to buy any bits to hang off the helmet.
ОтветитьAnyone have a recommendation for a camera to record daily travel that does not mount to a helmet?
ОтветитьThanks - this was great! Funny that the best action camera review I've seen is from a fellow motorcyclist.
