What is Buddhism? What do Buddhists believe?

This was an incredibly complicated religion to cover, since there are so many types of Buddhism and different traditions, so please excuse me if I happened to mix up traditions or didn't explain something clearly! It's meant to be a superficial overview and sometimes that comes at the expense of some of the details.

I would like to comment on my personal opinion that I discovered from Japanese Buddhism,
which is different from the Dalai Lama. The Japanese each sect of Mahayana Buddhism
teaches about mind, life, and the universe. The teachings of the four noble truths is common.

- The Pure Land sect has a hierarchical universe called the three thousand worlds.
It's the same as the real universe. The Buddha lands (that is, the planets of enlightened beings)
exist like the sand of the Ganges River there. And far beyond there is the Pure Land of Bliss.

- Esoteric Buddhism sects preach compassion and wisdom by the Super Buddha personified
the universe. Since humans are born in the universe, we are part of this Buddha. In other words,
we are Buddhas in birth. We should be aware of this and live our daily lives.

- The Lotus Sutra teaches that a Buddha from the distant past was born on this earth
as Shakyamuni Buddha. This is the truth of life that only Buddhas and Buddhas can discuss.
It foreshadows the life creation through DNA.

- The Avatamsaka Sutra(called Kegon-Kyou in Japan) teaches that there is a universe even
within a dust. This means that our universe is also in a gigantic particle. In other words,
it teaches that the reality of the universe is a fractal multiverse.

- Buddhism predicts that Buddhism itself will disappear and that Maitreya Bodhisattva will
save humanity 5.67 billion years from now. Isn't this a prophecy for the lifespan of the sun
in an age when interplanetary flight is possible?

In addition to the above, since Brahma was involved in Shakyamuni Buddha's enlightenment, Buddhism must be a teaching came from the sky for the awakening of humanity.

In Chinese Buddhism (Han buddhism), anyone as long as anyone opens wisdom (let go of desire). He can become Buddha.

Buddha is a state of mind. Buddhism is all about mind - psychology. Siddhartha Gautama - who eventually became a Buddha taught what he learned from his own experience. Through the practice of meditation techniques developed by the incredible yogis of ancient India who embarked on the investigation of the nature of self 3,000 years ago. Siddhartha came to the point of subtle mind where Hinduism got to and where they saw the Atman or self. However Siddhartha, when he got to that point, realized there was an even subtler mind where he realized self or ego was the source of all suffering. He was able to cut the root of ego, by way of eliminating all the negative and destructive emotions of ego and attained "the mind state of Buddha". We all have Buddha nature in us. The Dharma as taught by Buddha is the method to rid ourselves of ego and attain enlightenment - Buddha-hood - and an end to the suffering cycle of birth - death - rebirth (Samsara) to attain true and everlasting happiness. Ego and the concept of a independent, inherent existing "self" is the source of all suffering in the world.

What Buddhists don't want you to know is that Buddha is now in the lake of fire.

If all Arhots are supposed to be monks and the Dalai Lama is a monk, how then can he have a child? Why is the line of succession through his bloodline? That’s just spiritual monarchy, isn’t it?
