What about the Jalianwaahla Baag massacre? It is where thousands of Indians were burnt alive and shot dead for peaceful protest. Well English schools don’t teach them.

India: Britain should apologize!

Britain: we are sorry for banning you from burning widows

(I’m legit American I hate the British Empire for the suffrage that the Continental’s families endured, and no, the patriot is not my only source. But Britain doesn’t have much to apologize to India for)

Widows were burned because many men basically treated women like their property. For them, if an owner of the property dies, no one wants the leftovers so we might as well burn them with the respective dead owner. And of course, British didn't do it for kindness of their heart, definitely a financial motives behind that ban.

This is false, propaganda. Sati is not a hindu practice, this was fabricated to justify the imposition of colonial rule, otherwise the common citizens of Britain would revolt due to the attrocities happening. Why would Sati even take place, after marriage the women would have kids, if she burned herself after the husband passed away who would look after the kids. This is completely stupid. The dude used incidences of self immolation he saw, most probably heard, probably as a result of a raid, this happened because during this time it was mughul rule, if a husband died from war or other reasons, the wife would be raped. So many chose to take part it in out because they thought the alternative was worse. The British came to Bengal first, this place was still under Mughal control, where as the rest of India was being freed from mugul rule by the Maratha empire. Under mughul rule, there was a lot of vulnerabilities for women, when the husband passed away, a women alone by herself was the cause for many problems. Please use your brain, what would happen when your under a very violent occupier. This was not part of Hindu culture, this is not a spiritual practice. He's clearverly made use of this to justify British imposition in India, you need material, you need reasons to colonize by friend.

This is fake news and false propaganda, the British pushed this myth to find justifications to impose their colonial rule, they needed material so Sati was something they could use. This was not a common practice, there are some women that did it, during the mughal times because they alternative was being raped. But this was not widespread as he's mentioning it. No where in the Vedic or Hindu texts does it permit self immolation, there is no ritual based on it.

1) Sati was only prevalent in a small part of India
2) Canceling such practices does not justify the rape, colonization, stealing land, jobs and other valuables. Look at British museum it’s FULL of stolen goods from INDIA (which btw have a history older than Britain itself lol)
3) British stole over 3 trillion dollars and killed close to 800 Million ppl in india. Forcing indian soldiers to fight in world war, taking away the food from india through the bengal
Famine. You have no idea the atrocity committed by British, this take is so disappointing especially in todays world. Pls report this video for misinformation.

Funny how easy colonialism can easily justify the forced takeover of an entire race, murder over 100 million Indians between 1880 and 1920 and pillage the gold and jewels of the country. Befere the British occupied India, poverty did not exist and India contributed to almost 25 percent of the world GDP. A tyrant will always justify thr pretext to their tyranny.

So according to you sati prohibition happend in 1829 right? How about doing some homework before making such videos?
Let me tell you from where you should start
Start from topic "Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj" and what he did to stop Sati the so called traditional custom of India, when his father "Chatrapati Shahaji Raje Bhosale" died in year 1664.

Plz do your homework and come fully prepared next time. You don't wanna upset Indians like me, right?

With due respect I know my culture, tradition, history and religion.
Sati termed as sati system is not an ancient hindu practice, it started during the Islamic invasion as after any kingdom lost to the invasions the female adults and children were forced into sex slavery and at that time in the region of Rajasthan marked the start of a self willing practice called "Jauhar" since after knowing all the male soldiers are dead and if they couldn't escape the women took their life but after knowing the dead bodies were used for their desires by the invaders it was started by the women to not let their bodies used so they willingly started jumping into a fire to not give access to their dead bodies anymore.

But unfortunately this turned into Sati during the Islamic or Mugal ruke in India. Mostly in Rajasthani origin Hindu household alone not all over India and not in Hindu culture. It persisted earlier as a willfull sacrifice because of the harsh living conditions if the women felt its better to die than living in those conditions of life after the death of her husband but it later during or before the British invasion it was made as an unethical forcefully burning of wifes after death of Rajasthani wealthy husbands mostly to take his wealth in certain cases but not as an old Hindu practice.

Please know why shit happened. Just don't make a story without stating all the fact

A major problem with leftists: many have a disneyfied outlook that each of these indigenous cultures were harmonious, happy and moral until…the British came and decimated the culture. Many of these places, pre-colonisation, were absolute hell on earth. Honour killings, child sacrifices, mass violence. For the most part, the British brought law and order to places

This is one of the shittiest video today i have seen...
This is uneducation speakimg and nothing else and not from only these so called educated and protectors of law amd righteousness...but also from bhartiya people who don't educate themselves and from there mind are still oppressed and are stupidly giving weak arguments....
Why don't we say ....sati pratha was being held to these so called righteous people only becoz even if the bhartiya people where not considered even equivalent to be near about there pants got wet when they see women of any age....
First mugals came ...then these hypocrits....what they did to a women in absence of there guardian was so horrible that it was better to die...at least it saved there pride....every women can't fight these animals in the skin of a human being ... those who can like rani lakshmi bai ahe fought and killed these insects....she was not sent to sati...u morons.....
But yeah ....
I know u can't admit to your shameful history every offender behaves same ...
As long as they can ...they turn there back to there doing and put shameful excuses to hide there doings as they don't have guts to say sorry...
In our culture the one who realizes its mistake is a great being ....but u will never know about it becoz ut takes a great deal to face there wrong doing ..
Go watch porn or anime or things like that u are better at that only....don't out your liutle face in history

Why there is zero record of forced sati before British arrived? Why all 5000+ cases reported only from West Bengal which was presented which was under British rule ? Why there were less than 400 cases among 196 million in rest of the india ? in other parts of india if it was widely practiced ?Why there is no single case of sati after law against sati passed? Without radio and tv how all Indians got this news?? Few nation’s unfaithful supported traitors to establish colonial rule. Why Europeans hide their widely practised witch hunt? 1000s of witchcraft accused women burnt alive.. why??
