That was why I like Djokovic much more than Nadal, I never saw Djokovic hit his opponent like this.

The great thing about Rafa in 2013 is that he took the #1 spot for the year from prime Djokovic.
He is probably the biggest difference from 2010.

There is no doubt that Rafa had a great showing in 2010, but I don't think there were enough threats to him.
Novak, who was in poor form at the time, and Roger, who was past his peak.

Compared to 2010, 2013 must have been a very difficult environment in terms of having a prime Djokovic.
For Rafa, prime Novak is the opponent who is the worst match for him, but even so, they were even at 3-3 that year.
He outscored him in points for the year.

In addition, Rafa's winning percentage exceeded 90% for the first time in his career that year.
This was after competing in numerous tournaments.
Without a doubt, this is one of his best seasons.

Great match with the two greatest players playing at their prime on a neutral court, not fast grass nor slow clay.

If it was not the injuries, clearly Nadal would be 25-26 slams now

In the heat of the moment of course its expected for the player getting hit to be angry, or upset. This happens to me every time for myself or with friends when we go hard. But at the end, when all things have settled, we laugh about it.

Nadal is better than Djokovic in New York. He leads 2-1 in h2h there. Sad he couldn’t defend his title through injuries as he probably would have 6+ titles

It’s amazing that just 10 years later Djokovic will be the best player of all time, without question, and that Nadal would be making bitter statements about Djokovic’s success. What once was a rivalry is now a complete objective triumph for Novak. The debate is finished. Novak is the best player of all time and the most elegant and beautiful player of all time.

I think this is one of Rafa's last times beating Djokovic on a hard court. If memory serves the last coming later this year at the US Open. Hope he comes back soon.

Nadal would beat Djokovic on hard court just one more time after this, a bit later at the US Open final. Been 10 years since a hardcourt win

To be fair, the reaction is almost uncontrollable when you get hit in the face like that. Several pranks with thrown footballs and such between friends that were more accurate than you ever expected have proved that idea.

Crazy how even after 10 years Novak is still at the top of the game and after 9 years, Rafa was too. The way these legends have pushed each over the years to become better is incredible and now a 36 year old Novak has a 20 year old Alcaraz as his main rival

Regardless of whether your Nadal, Federer or Djokovic fan - it incredible that these guys used to clash so frequently in their primes and slug it out like this match, week after week, slam or masters, new gen is nowhere close to replicating this level of consistency (bar maybe Alacarz as he develops)

I’m not a Novak fan, but pretty scary 10 years later Novak just bageled a top 10 player (Fritz) in a straight sets demolition

USO gonna be very interesting

Novak can reassert his ownership of the younger guys or…
