Magento 2 How to Process Orders & Credit Memos / Refunds

Let's say I'm closing (programatically) an order with not all items shipped and I have to make a refund for that. Will magento handle by itself the taxes I charged the customer for those not-delivered items at the refund time? Or should I take care of them also?

Hi I am facing one issue some creditmemos are missing from creditmemo_grid table. Creditmemos are created I opened creditmemo using its Id and on order page under comment section it's showing we have refunded. If it's refunded the don't why it's not coming in grid table can you please help me to solve these

Can I Cancel an order in any later stages which has already been invoiced ?

Create memo can only be created after item is shipped? If I can only ship part of the items, will the order status change to complete?
