The results of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Uzbekistan on November 2 2023, resulted in strategic cooperation between the two countries.

France has the potential to obtain uranium raw materials for its energy companies, while Uzbekistan will obtain two dozen (24) Rafale multirole fighter jets from France's Dassault for its Air Force.

However, the exact conditions and funding arrangements for the procurement are still kept secret. This information was reported by the French industry-specific portal (20/11).

Of course, Uzbekistan has to be patient in queuing, because the Dassault aircraft industry has been flooded with Rafale orders from the United Arab Emirates, India, Qatar, Indonesia, Croatia and other countries.

This Rafale fighter jet is expected to modernize the Uzbekistan Air Force fleet from previously using East Block aircraft to the West Block.

It is known that currently the Uzbekistan Air Force operates 38 MiG-29 and 25 Su-27 frontline fighter jets, as well as 20 Su-25 attack jets.

The Uzbek Air Force has also previously used French-made products, namely 11 Eurocopter (now Airbus Helicopters) AS550 medium helicopters and 15 AS532 light helicopters.
