You're not buying the game on switch for rhe best performance. You're buying it for PS3 like performance on the go. Comparing it to PC is just disingenuous.

Is this the remastered edition? Has this been patched? Planning to buy this on Switch but having second thoughts on getting the PS4 version instead.

well, I would be be really happy if I get to play it on the switch. It would be a lot better than running the game with 10 fps on my pc.

Many have mentioned it, but this really needs a "hey, here's an analysis after patching", the game got hit REALLY hard on launch and nobody really followed up on how much the updates fixed or broke.

Well, regardless of how the Switch version performs, this is still a market that Rockstar is missing out on by not releasing the 3D-Era Grand Theft Autos on the Switch.

The patch added gyro controls framerates seems passable to me at least. Honestly I love it.

And a few months later it will come for Xbox one and ps4 can't wait see that.

OK. Last Update changed alot. It's almost perfect playable now. Not even a delay in aiming. Toggleable dynamic resolution, grafic glitches from the update before are also gone. Now a new Video would make sense. @Digital_Foundry
The game is the perfect Portable GTA clone now.

To be honest i didnt really find this game a bad experience in the switch, i think it is a fantastic port for the switch, there were some framerate issues but nothing unplayable and it fixed itself quickly, i only found one glitch where i clipped outside of the map but shortly after i was teleported back into the map but other than that its a great port for the switch

So for those wondering about the patch, I've been playing the game on v1.5.0. The game now has dynamic resolution. It apparently scales as low as 720p docked and 480p handheld according to patch notes and can be toggled on or off. The input latency seems non existent as far as I can see and it holds a decent frame rate. Not perfect but not noticeably bad either. Worth picking up now in my opinion.

It plays fine on Switch, been enjoying it. It’s not the worst Switch port by a long shot and yes, I played WWE 2K18! That shit was just unplayable.

Of course the switch wouldn’t be better than a 7th gen system 😆

One problem I have with the port, which is related to the controls, moving your character with diagnals with the left stick the character isn't moving at full speed, which is odd because it doesn't allow you to Sprint unless you move the stick in a straight direction, if you're moving with the stick in a diagnal direction try sprinting, I feel like I'm the only one who feels like I noticed it, and yes I went back to the original release to see if I'm just going crazy, but no, something is definitely up with the switch version when it comes to that, slightly annoying.

I played it before i updates... It was bad. Bit not as bad as ask. That was just wow. Not only one step behind ark. XD But it improved alot. A new videos would make sense...

This is nothing new for deep silver. The performance of their games on consoles has always suffered.


The only way you'll get decent performance is ont the xbox one x, while playing SR3 in back compat, and if im correct the frame rate is actually around 60, but even then, not locked. so it still sucks.


Only play this game on PC, Seriously

This game sucks on ALL platforms. PC, PS3, 360, and now the switch. This game is not optimized for ANY platform at all and the devs just simply built the game and said, "oh it runs. eh"

Deep Silver gave us a patch that helps with the framerate. It’s, not PC/PS4 Pro/Xbox One X framerate quality, but its years better compared to the week 1 release. You will see a few drops here and there from tons of activity on the screen, but it doesn’t impact the overall gameplay. I’m satisfied 😎

They should of just lowered the resolution

This port is utter garbage, deleted it from my Switch after just one hour of playing since the issues made it annoying to play, specially the input lag
