How to find Public Domain pictures on Google Image Search

Many of the results are available thru places like iStock Photo, and though they may be free to USE as you see fit, you still have to PAY to download the image, thru a PLAN.

Is it still valid now in 2019?

Does monetizing the video translate to commercial use?

Most of the ones I find are Creative Commons using your method, not public domain.

The difference to me is attribution required for creative commons and not for public domain.

Great tip! It is worth noting that while some of the images returned with this search method are Public Domain, many more are Creative Commons. Creative Commons images have many options the copyright holder can choose to apply to his/her image. However, they all require attribution of the copyright holder. Just Goggle the license code listed with the image (i.e. CC BY 3.0). This will show you the specific terms you are agreeing to by using the image. Without proper attribution, you can still get yourself into trouble. If it is actually described as public domain, no attribution of any kind is required.

I am sorry, it's just wrong. Public Domain is a special type of licence. Creative Commons for example may allow you to distribute and change picutures even commercially, however this pictures are not public domain. CC in most cases has a copyleft.
