I always die laughing when Milton's in the basement and Lumbergh goes down there not only to tell him to kill cockroaches, but is eating a piece of cake while doing it XD

I think the idea was to actually make the cake ugly, so that it would look like was made by people from the office itself e.g. non professionals bakers, if it was the idea, it was a success because that cake looks pretty ugly to me, even so and so things like Baskin Robbins sells cakes way prettier than that garbage pile.

This whole scene expresses my contempt in a nutshell for corporate culture.

This happened to me, except with an entire shift. I work night shift in a casino. They had a pizza party one day, except the last time of the day they brought in pizza was 9pm. By the time us midnighters clocked in, swing shift had already ravaged through the remaining pizza.
One of many examples of upper management not giving a crap about the night shift here

The person I hate most in this scene is the woman on Milton's right who should have passed the last piece to him but knew there was no cake left so kept it to herself. Amazing how inconsiderate and selfish people can be.

Kinda reminds me of my experience at the High Court where I was working as an intern. So the judge decided to give a treat. She ordered coffee from Starbucks which was only given to the Researchers. Not a single intern in the courtroom was given the privilege and we were given a boring 5 rupee snack.

If you don't get mad at the pie scene you are basically a sociopath.

Milton is actually lucky not to get the cake. Peg had her fingers on the cake.

It would be sweet irony if Initech was owned by his same billionaire character in the former.

The "enthusiasm" of the workers singing Lumbergh a happy birthday is an understated gem.

This is a lot less funny when you're the one who's been treated this way all your life.

Poor guy, I know how he feels. Yesterday my office had cookie cake, everyone had a slice but me. I starting to thin I am the Milton of the office. This is such a good movie though!

We received Christmas hams one year. Some jerk took two. So I never got one. I gave my Christmas turkey to a coworker because h we kept harassing me because he had a family and I am single. I finally just let him have it. Otherwise I would be considered greedy and uncaring.

When I came to the US in 2005 I worked in a company where we had cake day every week and the people looked just like this

Poor Milton. He should have brought in a cake the next day and sat down and ate it right in front of them. No wonder he burned down the place. They took his cake, took his swingline staple, took his paycheck, moved him to storage room B where he couldn't see the happily married squirrels play and made him kill rats. A guy can only take so much.

That's the fault of the person cutting the cake. You need to make the pieces smaller. Also today everyone is on a diet and nobody would want the cake.
