i attempted EA's *official* sims build challenge

Maybe this is an old castle that someone has renovated. Like maybe a castle that’s been in the family for generations and they have updated it with semi-modern appliances.

I LOVE you showing the shell challenges that people do with your shells I miss them. I also really wish you wouldn't have pack restricted this. I'm over base game only builds with one other pack.

Shell challenges were fun to watch and who know may attempt doing one myself if I feel like doing so.

For a kit that only features build mode objects, I think it’s weird that they’ve published a challenge where they’ve already done most of the building

Im doing this, with a catch, Im not using the pack (castle pack, cause I dont have it) so Im using get together, get to work, base game, cats & dogs, discover university & get famous to decorate it!

You can kind of play in this lot as a “medieval” save, with the For Rent pack, making the royal family the landlord and the servants were the tenants ?

I know you want to make the builds more accessible for download, but I feel like it would be more enjoyable to see you build without pack limitations. The builds then live up to their potential and you don't have to struggle with only one pack and base game or something like that. I loved the build!!

Please consider doing it again. With all packs your heart desires 🥳🤩

OK. HEAR ME OUT. WHAT. IF. You were to make the most historically accurate castle possible?? Like, servant’s quarters hidden next to the royalty quarters, and servant’s staircases and a throne room such… like Downton Abbey vibes, or BBC’s Merlin show, you know? Then you could like, rent out the servants’ quarters and then play as the servants and the royalty separately… I don’t know. Good idea? Maybe. Would it actually work? No idea 🤔

this build literally makes me want this pack so bad.. i didn't vote for the castle tbh since i didn't think it'd translate well in the sims since we have SO MUCH modern stuff in the bg, but it works so well. this build was so beautiful!!

Kayla, idk if you know this but you can change the lighting without a sim inside the lot. Hold shift while clicking on an already placed light and the lighting color wheel should pop up

The clipping of the stair railing is killing me 😢 EA hates us

i feel like if the sims allowed walls to have different thickness options, that would fix so much. and it could even have some fun gameplay situations! like having thin walls can let sims hear certain things while thicker ones prevent it, thicker walls hide clipping stair rails, etc.

Have you thought about doing a categories challenge where you build a house based off of the category images? Like a house that looks like the house for the housing category image, a kitchen that looks like the kitchen category image etc.

I think you'd do really good with it and it would be fun.

I think this needs to be fleshed out to a full expansion pack with a world similar in size to Windenburg or a new sims medieval

I just spent an hour Gothifying this castle, making it black and creepy for Vlad, then my game crashed. FML.

I always love seeing the shell challenges and results! Also, the cupcake machine weirdly fits the medieval castle vibes.
