How to restore your iPhone if you forgot your passcode | Apple Support

i have reset my iphone according to your instructions and it is done but it still asks for previous apple id and password to continue

Why is there need of erasing all data? It is your device in the first place and not all of people using back up on icloud. It would be hassle for the iPhone users to delete all of data, if you could only just set up a new way of restoring iPhone without deletion of data would be great. I suggest you do it @applesupport.

Hello, have a good time. My phone's memory was full and I couldn't switch to iOS 17, then some apps stopped working. And I turned the phone off and on several times. and the pictures on the phone disappeared. then I deleted some programs and downloaded the new version to the phone. now the photos take up 221 GB. But I can't see my photos or videos in Photos. Can someone help me??

After the update and synchronization, the photos disappeared from the phone and icloud apple 15 pro max.
Apple support does not solve the problem.

After installing new update ios 17.3 my device cant unlock. After a while I trying my phone to unlock using my passcode I can’t done.
So I restore my phone and also I lost my data😢
I am not forgets my passcode but the phone not recognise it

The lesson here is to backup your iPhone when you can.

Why not just offer a way to unlock the phone with your Apple ID and password, instead of erasing everything?

Apple I have a question! When we forget the passcode, wouldn’t it be much easier to just enter the following when asked by the system: Apple ID, Apple email, personal, email, personal phone number, or similar that’s already attached to each user’s account, instead of restarting and going through all these other things you mentioned? And you also have other means of authentication like fingerprint and Face ID within each iPhone, so why not use these as well? I mean is just a thought. Thanks 😊
