VirtualBox 7. Should you upgrade today?

After updating I cant get 3D acceleration to work on my XP x32bit anymore .... any tips?

Don't do it unless you're prepared for it to uninstall Vbox6. It wont give much warning about it, and it wont matter if you install to a different disk because it detects the older installation by it's registry keys. Don't think I'm ready to be pushed into an upgrade for the sake of having a dark theme.

people should upgrade to 7.0 cause it skips the windows xp stuff.

is VirtualBox start better than VMware?

I would like to know if you can setup CUDA and has a better GUI?

I just updated mine and get an error message when it initially loads where it states it will automatically restart but doesn't? I will play with and see if I can get it going. I could try restarting my desktop. I'm running this on a Mac mini. I've used it before without a problem. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thanks!

Can I install VB7 on MacOS while keeping 6.1 installed in case I need to go back? If I do go back, will all machines still work in 6.1 after being used in 7? Thanks!

VB 7 might be fine but I cannot figure out how to adjust the screen size and use the command-key equivalents on my Mac. Guest editions are installed. I’ve been working on this problem in VB 6 and VB 6.1 for 3 1/2 years. The problem persists in VB 7.

Conclusion: VB is not ready for prime time.

Thanks so much for the video! Whenever I power off a VM I have to go through the whole process boot and installing the isolated. Is there way to change this? Thinking of this because it has topped me from updating

why isn't 7 offered as an upgrade?
I'm on 6.1.38 and it's saying upgrade to 6.1.40 not 7.0

Windows Aero on windows 7 destroys this versions whole career.

Windows 11 as Host & Linux Mint21 as Guest. Already upgraded. Absolutely NO PROBLEM! P.S.: File Manager is a killer feature!!!

I'm very glad they finally added Dark theme, they just need to update the distro icons and put more , there are very few, or give the option to put any image.

Think the file manager would be greate for me I only use virtualbox for testing. For example I'm creating a bash script on my local machine then copying to it arch linux vm then running it here. To make things easier I just use scp to copy my script and other files to the vm

None of my previous VMs would boot on 7.0 ... USB .. unable to access or enumerate .. the fix posted did not help ... had to roll back to last 6.1 version until this is resolved.

Do not update yet if you use MacOS Catalina as your host OS. I upgraded yesterday on my system running the latest version of Catalina and my Ubuntu and Windows 10 Home VMs that worked perfectly before crashed on launch. I had to remove VirtualBox 7 and go back to the latest version of 6.1 to get them working again.

The Unattended Installation feature is SUCH a great one for me!
I create new virtual machines all the time, so this will definitely free up some precious time :)

With these advancements it might be worthwhile to make a from scratch installation video. ???
