Hello! Can you give me a suggestion, I'm using Zoom H4N Pro to record ASMR voices, and I'm using rec level 1, is this too low? Because if I use level 2 and so on it makes the noise from the mic itself even louder. Can you give me a suggestion? Thank You

Is this able to be used outside? Like if there is a small speaking event and I put it on a tripod near the speaker, will it capture their audio clearly or will they have to speak directly into it?

The noise sample at the end you recorded for 8 minutes and then used in the workflow, do you turn the mic off, record a silent room or what? I think that's been asked, but I can't find the answer below. Love the video though! Thank you.

Can the Zoom H4N also record video via a connected phone, like the Roland Go Mixer Pro can?

If you have to use background music it would be far better without vocals.

I found the background music distractring.

I’ve just pulled my Hn4 off the shelf to do a documentary with my Gh5 + Sennheiser ew3 pack, + NG2 + Hn4. Same issue with HN4 preamps & NG2 -lacks signal strength. Time to upgrade to beachtek preamp or similar.

Great talent and advice, but wtf with background music (with vocals) playing behind a video about audio quality?!? My PET PEEVE. Just stop. STOP. It is annoying. I stopped the video 1/2 way through and did not finish it. You are a talented dude. Rely on it. Don’t try to force the silly overpolished vlogger crap. You do not need that, you are good.

Are you using a Pre-amp? I have the same devices and can't get the audio levels to hit above -24 with the mic input level at 100 and yelling into the mic:O Plz help this sound amazing!

Why the stupid background music? Your criteria as a professional is very questionable just for that.

Some helpful tips here. I would love to see a little more in depth your settings for the H4N itself in conjunction with the NTG2. Also, your audio editing processed through the finish. So many videos I've watched today just say "and then you do some EQ and you're good to go," which is not so helpful.

If I plug this device into my Canon Vixia HF R800 camcorder (which has a 3.5 mm jack) while recording, can I avoid the need to later synch the sound and picture? In other words, can it function as simply an external microphone?

How do you sync the audio with the video when you're recording externally? I know people use clapping or clapper boards but it's much easier to have it synced right away to save time in post.
