I’ve just picked up a 5N in the UK. Obviously I cannot get 24fps or 60fps, unlike the USA model. If I were to update the firmware on my UK spec with USA spec firmware, am I just creating a jazzy looking brick or has the idea got legs?

I wish sony made a new version of the VG. i owned the VG30 but dynamic range and videoquallity was incredible bad. Payed 600€ for it only to realise my 250€ a6000 is way better :/

When I got my Nex-3 it was on Version 1. The previous owner never updated it. I found and cleaned off 2 Mini USB (not Micro USB) cables and got it connected and upgraded to version 5.

I have a NEX-5N that I bought new in 2011, and you are making me so happy realizing what a great investment it was at the time! I've made videos on and off with it and am going to start again soon so I've been doing my research and your channel is so helpful.
The only thing is, it is on version 1.00, and now my Mac is too advanced to be able to install the new firmware! Luckily (?) it looks like the 5N didn't have many updates.

I recently purchased a used NEX-7. Firmware is version 1.00. Current update is 1.03. Can I just go to version 1.03, or do I need to upgrade from .00 to .01, then to .02, then to .03?
