Is CCleaner Malware?

C - C - Cleaner.... is actually CCleaner. Thanks internet.

My CCleaner runs a task that minimizes everything i have on fullscreen. Everytime i start my PC, CCleaner create one task called crashhandler, that crashhandler work in a very... funny way. It runs once per day and when it does, it opens a command prompt and closes it VERY fast, you can barely see it, and everything that was fullscreen on the time it opened gets minimized. Everytime i start my PC i have to go to Task Scheduler and delete that damn task.

Any app recommendations for finding, comparing and removing duplicate files?

Been using it sadly on a bunch of PC’s, I use autoruns to chop out all of its processes after running it, and admittedly I’ve been cleaning the registry with it. I kinda like doing that after gutting windows of edge, OneDrive, and all of its bloat, and to be fair a mix of that with DISM and SFC has kept these systems running for years without much degradation to performance or hiccups. I get the systems a bit gutted and then setup for their work in the office, and it feels good to have stripped down systems. I actually even spend the time to delete edge from programs 86, program data, and on the user app data. Call me paranoid but I clean house, and prevent it from coming back, and my systems have been rock solid.

what about the duplicate finder tool on CCleaner? I used to find that function useful. Is there an alternative you would recommend? Thanks.

i realized that cc cleaner was pretty pointless after a while ive been using malwarebytes since then

What do you think about Registry Cleaning/Cleaner?

Hi, 61 yr old granpa here. Just retired my old 32 bit Dell 520 Pentium 4 Windows 7 lol. I wiped it clean and installed Linux LMDE 5 and was learning how to use that distro and like it. I used Bleachbit too. I was using Ccleaner free until the security breach and stopped using it until it was resolved. For an old fart like me who has PC knowledge limitations, it worked well. I disabled parts of it using task scheduler. No update and no start up. Opted out of other things and promo offers. I used it to clean reg key remnants when removing programs and was surprised how many are left over. I backed up any changes in case something went wrong but never had to reverse any. I also used the free to try driver updater because on a recently purchased Dell 3620 WS (Windows 10) I was at a loss trying to figure out which exact ones were needed that device manager was showing as missing. A Ccleaner scan showed which ones were needed including the version number, release date etc. I then looked them up at the Microsoft site downloaded and installed them all. The Dell driver support website that also runs in the background all the time and couldn't find the specific drivers I needed was useless to me so I deleted it after their scan. Ccleaner start up options disables programs too. I even disabled Ccleaner from starting on launch. Task scheduler confirmed that. It cleans browser history, temp files and cookies well. It's ease of usage has worked well for me after adjusting it to be less intrusive. I wasn't aware I could use Bleachbit and save backups on Windows. I feel that I'm making progress to keep up with the times better. I use USB 3.0 instead of the DVDRW thing, and discarded my Members Only jacket and flip phone long ago. I may not understand everything on your channel, but it's a blast learning from it, thanks for sharing your knowledge

I've been using CCleaner Free Edition v5.87.9306 as a portable app since WinXP. Mostly, I use it to clean up the registry and clean up unwanted files. It is not "installed" on my system, but I run it as a portable app. Because it is portable, I use only use it when I need to and it does not linger in the background. The extra "features" of the pro-version are not needed, so I don't use it. Again, never had any issues with the "Free Edition" as a portable app.

Those people that use "cracked" or pirated software should not be surprised if their system gets hosed for whatever reason.

And i am the only one who spell CCleaner to C Cleaner?

In this day and age, ease of use and timesaving is top priority for many. Thank you for the review, but I feel that it may be a bit harsh to put down the software in this way, especially when competitors require similar access and permissions. Not everyone is a techie :)

I used CCleaner (I call Ce Ce Cleaner too) back in 2004 or 2005 until stopped using XP... and it was good at that time... Registry was always a mess... I don't use Windows regularly since 2008...
But... the actual "state of CCleaner described by CT is what I think of most Windows software, excluding professional software like Adobe, Autodesk, etc...
Win Softs have a lot of misinformation, a lot of undercover stuff, a lot of bluff and always trying to scare users... and bad engineering behind all that "junk"... it is just a "low end" environment...

Thanks, some gaming enhancing videos (2 of the top 3 results) had ccleaner in them so I downloaded it but then I thought about trying to use it properly and found your video and then uninstalled it, luckily I only had it for a day and used it once.

вот мне интересно почему это прога навсегда отключает службы виндовс допустим епик геймс стим захожу включаю типа включается но после двух трех перезагрузок службы виндовс отключается никак навсегда включить не могу даже захожу в мсконвиг включаю но клинер не дает типа захожеш в клинер она отключена никак ну удается включить вот реестр и службы виндовс где хранятся? как включить навсегда? я переустановил виндовс на новый ссд и там 1 ссд и сбросил биос где хранится реестр и службы виндовс я даже не установил эту прогу и там она уже выключена это как? почему даже если включаю она отключает службы виндовс епиг геймс и стим это как? может она уже через удаленно сеть интернет вырубает? вот как кто решит ?
