It's a Field Watch! NEW Seiko 5 Sports SRPG (SBSA117/SRPG35K1) FULL REVIEW

Meh. It's an OK field watch, but compared to what's coming out of microbrands and, more importantly, what's coming from the better Chinese brands, it's a $150 watch. Even at $150, I can get a nice vintage looking military watch with sapphire, 100 meters WR, a Seiko movement, etc, from Ali Express.
And as far as the dial design, it looks like someone looked at a Hamilton Khaki and then tried to draw it from memory. It just doesn't have the balance of the serious field watches.

Hamilton Khaki or this one right here? Thoughts on this?

i picked up the green one. it looks great on screen, a bit disapointed after i got it. my 10 year old seiko 5 SRP275 looks better on my 6.5" wrist. its 40mm but its thinner and look smaller than this new seiko 5 (shorter lug to lug). nevertheless I'll keep it

Just got my srpg35 and love it!y biggest qualm is the fact that the numbers aren't lumed... But other than that, not too much to complain about!

So late in this, but i just picked the srpg31 and I'm loving it. It def is the sweet spot in case size and the feel on the wrist is minimal, especially coming from a predominant diver enthusiast. Great review! Domo arigato!

Got one on the way. Now the only modern Seiko 5 model I’m missing is the flieger. And I have to say I think all of the models are absolute bangers, reliable, beautiful, with plenty of colorways to choose from, regardless of how the 5KX was received at the time you gotta give it to Seiko, they have been on a roll.

Can this watch be hand wound by turning the crown, or is the only way to wind it by moving the automatic rotor by moving the watch around in the air? Also what is the difference between this SRPG35K1 and the SPRG27K1 which looks identical?

I just paid $220 for one from an online Seiko AD (Long Island Watch). Maybe at that price people upset about the Hardlex crystal will be placated a bit.

Really like this watch but I’m a maintenance worker I run equipment, fix water leaks (around mud) and do tree work. Will this watch stand up to this without scratching or is there a better option for me? Thank you

I moved up to the Hamilton Khaki Field 42mm that looks almost identical by has 80hr power reserve, sapphire crystal, and AR coating. It ran me $160 more on ebay but to get all that and swiss movement, it was worth it.

Hello Dave, Amazon says that the width of the band for the Seiko SRPG35 K1 is 18mm, but I've read on other sites that sell this watch that the band width is 20mm. Can you give me a conclusive answer: 18mm or 20mm? Thanks

I really don’t understand the hate for the SRPD “5KX” line. They’re nice looking, decently made watches with upgraded movements for a decent price. None of the people complaining about the lack of divers cert’s and screw down crowns are divers anyway. Everyone is either wearing these to their regular office or labor jobs and they do everything needed and more for that. If you want a professional dive watch, Seiko makes a ton of those.

That glass back is a bad idea I had one shatter while it was on my wrist.

Compared to Hamilton? Roughly 1/2 the price. The Seiko is a better value.

i really dont know whats wrong with seiko... no sapphire on a 300$ watch??? and the chinese wathes with 100$ and a seiko movement have sapphire.... its the only reason i am not going to buy a seiko... i love products from japan ... i also have an orient kamasu ... but seiko thats a big NO NO for me
