Bro i am adore your konten so much and i need qestionibg you about what surface most heat come out from car or truck? Is exhaust pipe more heat than engine hood?
ОтветитьI went to Florida, they don’t like newcomers moving to their Great Country
ОтветитьIf you read your owners manual Subaru states that you warm your engine up to operating temperature before driving. So I follow the manual
ОтветитьCurrently it's 5 degrees outside. Does this mean I have to warm up on idle for 5 minutes or can i drive slowly but keep rpm under, say 3000, for the first 5 minutes.
ОтветитьThanks for this, man
ОтветитьThis is not a problem for us living in the equator.
Ответить"move to Florida" was the funniest joke of the whole vid
ОтветитьHeating things up gradually is always better than too fast.
ОтветитьWhat about transmission fluid,
Power steering etc does that need to
Warm up properly work? It s not just
The engine.
Oil for my 2001 Honda Insight 3cyl was 2.5L of 0W20 per manual. However: even the dealer would stamp "4qt 10w40" on the receipt every time. (sigh)
ОтветитьIn frosty Alberta, the use of a block heater is practically necessary.
ОтветитьFor particulate filter diesels you shouldn’t warm up your engine idling because it will clog up the filter
ОтветитьIn Middle East the temperature goes up to 50c , how does the engine handle this temperature ?
ОтветитьAlthough oil can flow at those temps, don’t forget that as metals cool and heat up they expand and contract, and when it comes to the parts of the engine that have to be exact down to the nanometers such as your cylinders and pistons, temp matters
ОтветитьВидно же что термостат не работает
ОтветитьThe old filter is right there on top. Thats convenient
Ответитьnote that this is the car is parked so no cooling from air passing on the radiator and engine bay
ОтветитьWow thanks! I have a Subaru Forester 2014 with FB20 engine NA as well. Here in the Philippines its so hot because of our tropical climate.. Anyways thru your video I've finally confirmed that AC temp must be on lowest because of the heat core. Makes me save gas and compressor is opening less intermittently.. Also learned that no need to wait until blue light turns off on the gauge.. Thanks
ОтветитьIt would be very nice to see if there's a way to measure the temps with the hood closed, as obviously this would make a huge difference as far as how side components, like the battery, warm up.
Ответитьthis is satisfaction
ОтветитьLet's repeat at -35, please
ОтветитьYou would drive a Subaru
ОтветитьCould you do one in Fahrenheit?
ОтветитьNewer cars only needs a minute.. I live in Canada where is very cold during winter.. I bought 2007 Corolla with 60,000 kms and now I have 390,000 kms on it... Never need any repair on it and it is running great! But again be gentle on throtle for first 10 min and don't push hard car too much..
ОтветитьAwesome
Ответитьwhat to do if its -25
ОтветитьSo it's -39C today, what do you recommend?
Ответить5 min mínimum 10 max them just drive
Ответитьhi can you do this for tires? what temperatures do tires reach at common commuting. at 45mph, 70 mph. reason i ask is to cross reference to motorcycle tyre warming up
ОтветитьGood idea to let it warm up before you drive, no matter what people say. I’ve got 370,564 miles on my V8, so it’s worked for me. Plus I’m a private pilot. Not warming up an airplane engine is suicide! Lol
Ответитьvery informative video
ОтветитьI like the cold. I'm a heat sensitive guy and sweats and warms easily on little movements (even in cold weather and I have problems with my family since they're freezing while I feel like the temperature is fine). I remember joking around that if I moved to Artic or Antarctica, I'll cause global warming because my body would adapt on extreme cold.
Ответить60C? It wasn't all the way at operating temp yet.... I know there's no turbo here, but I wouldn't be hitting hard turbo pulls at this temp yet.
ОтветитьF and C 🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьI usually start driving the second it starts and light drive untill the temp gauge starts to move up the second the temp gauge starts to move I normal drive up to highway speed
Ответитьexcellent video.. id like to see a video with this infrared of a car with and without thermostat but a normal outdoor ambient temps like 35 celsius to prove weather is ok or not running a car without termostat in hot climates...i dont run thermostat in my car cause i live in hot climate ,,,car nowdays are all aluminium and get warm faster than old iron engines...destroy thay myth that in hot hot climates you need thermosat..id like to c how long does it take to the car to warm up with and without thermostat ..
ОтветитьCool video could you find different examples of inline, V type engines, and even larger displacement like V6 and V8. Another point that could be interesting is a video for not only the temperature pattern but how long the heat is held after shutting down and engine resting.
ОтветитьAfter I come out of the garage, I usually will let engine idle while the garage door is closing. Roughly 10-15 seconds. A quick taxi out of the culdesac about 2-3 minutes and terrain lei tied to about 25-30 MPH for about another 3 minutes. By the time I get to the Interstate (around 10 minutes) ready to roll.......
I personally recommend leaving cabin heating OFF at least until engine warms up two reasons. 1. You are just pumping cold air to your face and 2. The coolant can heat up a bit quicker without pressure being taken away to the heater hoses. Obviously Defroster needs to work but then again you are supposed to scrape the snow and ice off the vehicle. Anyway....YES ALLL the snow, just because it doesn’t block your view doesn’t it mean it wont obscure someone behind you. Unfortunately rarely enforced is a law in most states especially Northeast and Snow Belt states.
My car sits in a garage that is 40 degrees all winter long. It stays that temp because the cars put off heat and then the garage holds the heat in that came off of the vehicle. Even though it never gets below 40 degrees in the winter time i still let them warm up that way the heat is warm when I get in the car.
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to test some diesel engine..
ОтветитьI recently bought a second hand Tuscon 2.7 V6 2005 model, 150 000 km. Vehicle oil consumption is very low. No noticeable change in oil level on dip stick. However when pulling away the car is quite. Then about a half a minute later there is a slight rapping noise while accelerating which sounds like piston slap. When lifting the accelerator the noise disappears. About 30 seconds later the noise is gone and the engine sounds perfect again, even if left standing till cold and restarting during the day the noise does not reoccur. I find if I let it idle for about 3 minutes or so from cold after starting up in the morning, there is no noise what so ever. Would it help going to a thinner oil? I don't know what viscosity is currently in it, as the oil is still fairly clean, even after 5000 km. I've only done 5000 km since purchasing it. The owners manual recommends 5W 20 for all regions but can use 5W 30 if 5W 20 is not available. I know most people believe that one should go to a higher viscosity with higher mileage. Your views please? I'm worried that the piston slap is causing excessive wear while occurring. Thanks for your great videos. I really appreciate and enjoy them!
ОтветитьWould be cool to see what happens when the thermostat opens and fans kick on.
ОтветитьMove to Florida ya Neanderthals!
ОтветитьMove to Florida! Would love it but too many crazy things take place in USA. -45 better than USA. I love to visit not to move!.
ОтветитьMr.Beast, thank you for being you.
ОтветитьHahaha. Low throttle and low rpms.
1.4 liter shitbox
High throttle all the time. 3-4k revs on the motorway.
Time to rev the bullocks off the engine from cold
I live in florida so i use 10w30 year round
ОтветитьI let my work truck idle for a minimum 10 minutes in the winter. The tools need to get defrosted.
ОтветитьI usually just put in neutral and push the car until we both warm up!
Ответить
