Incredible.
ОтветитьPlease take this into a nature environment. I’d love to see how this mic would perform.
ОтветитьBeen looking forward to this video. Thanks for making it!
ОтветитьWhat camera are you shooting with? I`m curious
ОтветитьAlways awesome to watch you create
ОтветитьPerfect intro for a super review and test! Bomb!
ОтветитьFantastic content Marcel and Libby, love it, and adding a tutorial makes this so engaging and educational--- sounds awesome!!!!!! I learn so much from your techniques, thank you!
ОтветитьThanks for the interesting video! I always look forward to your updates!
By the way, I'd also like to see how you edit your recordings. By the way, I'd like to see how you edit your recordings, and I'd love to see a video of you editing and the software you use.
Yes, please in nature, Forrest, meadow….👍🏻👋🏻
ОтветитьI think it would be awesome to hear this along with POV footage. just carry the mic above you as you walk and video ‘ Point of view’ footage
ОтветитьThis Mic seems to be sold out everywhere I've looked. Is a new version in the making. Is the Sennheiser Ambisonic an alternative?
ОтветитьCool. I do like ambisonic recordings. Looks like I need to get an NT-SF1. And a recorder to plug it into ! Ha ha. Why do I always choose expensive hobbies ?
ОтветитьMarcel, are you using the Anker PowerCore 20100 or the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 version? I can't find the PowerCore+ anywhere.
ОтветитьWow it sounds so real. The F6 sounds brighter and cleaner then the F4 did. That's saying something by the way cause that thing sounded hella real. Almost Sound-Devices 744-T pure. What sample rate and bit depth did you use? I want an F6 for the 32 bitfloat.
ОтветитьHi Marcel. Hast du dich bewusst gegen das AMBEO entschieden? Lg Andreas
ОтветитьThanks, amigos!🙏🏽
ОтветитьI have NT-SF1 and Zoom F6 and also Nuendo 11 so I can make Dolby Atmos sound. The plug-in for NT-SF1 can make 7.1.4 sound. In film they have NT-SF1 for the background sound and other mikes for the sound that should be clear and easy to listen to.
ОтветитьHow long (time) do you record each soundscape? And when selling the sounds, how long (time) is each sound clip?
ОтветитьVery happy to have found your channel. I'm also a sound recordist working professionally. I create sound installations and music and sounddesign for film.
I'm using the H2a Hydrophones and looking to upgrade to the ASF1 mkII's. I'm going to sail in the Arctic this year and i'm looking to level up on some knowledge and equipement.
I bought the RODE- NTSF1 last year. I'm also looking to dive deeper in the control what is possible in post production. Get into Ambisonics more, but also using it to create 5.1 or more channel surround installations on speakers.
I have found that the internal routing of the Rode Soundfield plugin does not correspond with the internel routing with for example lets say Logic or Reaper. I use that software instead of Ableton which I use for my music productions because of the native surround routing which Ableton Live simply lacks. It would be great to hear your experience on this topic if you have also worked with these kind of surround setups. It's like you say in other video's, this topic is very unique and not so much experience is to be found online about these specific questions.
Thanks for sharing the video's I became a big fan already within a couple of days!
A question about your headphone routing (L/R) are you setting to pre or post?
ОтветитьI love the sounds in front of the church! Danke!
ОтветитьHow did you get that mic? I’ve had one on order for a year!! 😆
ОтветитьThe Sound Devices ambeo plugin is calibrated for the Sennheiser Ambesonic mic only. Ambeo mics are very sensitive to proper calibration, so although it will probably work with the Rode mic, it will not work as well. Many ppl say you don’t really need the ambeo plug-in on a Sound Devices MixPre. Just record the four channels with linked gains and process in the DAW for surround sound.
ОтветитьAnother excellent video. I must say you produce way above the ordinary videos. Part travelogue part soundscape part product review. Beautiful photography, perfect music, and thoughtful editing. I also like the transition effects from cut to cut. Informative and relaxing. Always delightful. Thanks for the great work you two do.
ОтветитьI'd like to purchase something to capture ambient while travelling that's a step up from the h1n. What would be your recommendations? I've heard good things about the Sony pcm-d100 but it's a bit more than I'd like to spend. The F1 doesn't seem to be much better than my takstar video mic.
Im not sure if the pcm-d10 or pcm-a10 would fare much better either? Not much is known about them
Question… if you were to downmix the ambisonic recording to a stereo file, would it still sound more spacious than a regular stereo recording?
ОтветитьYou basically become a spy! Nice mic and review!
ОтветитьI truly enjoyed this. Thank you.
Ответитьich glaube du sprichst auch deutsch oder :D ?
ОтветитьGreat video as always from you two. In this one I think that the 32 bit recording saved you at min.4,19, that door was the real test.
ОтветитьI got a Rode for a test, its background noise is impressive, very loud. I do not find it suitable for shooting in nature. I'm using a MixPre 10 as recorder.
ОтветитьYou mentioned using 96K to record ambisonic. What about 32-bit float? ‘Any issues with the NT-SF1 - or with the requirements for quality field ambisonic recording - with 32-bit float?
ОтветитьI have the F6 and just got a NT-FS1, and so far I am not super impressed with the "isolation" I think it sounds just as good if not better using my binaural microphone.
However I have one really important question I wanted to ask you directly.
On the F6 are you recording in A-Format or B-Format? The results I get are quite different. I would think with the SoundField plugin being made specifically for the NT-FS1 that A-Format would produce more accurate results, but I actually think I get better results (less gain, but more accurate sound) when using the Ambix B-Format and using the Plugin as a generic B-Fromat decoder rather than A-Format.
There may not be a lot of people that can use the video, but I would absolutely LOVE a short video of you hooking up the NT-FS1 to the F6, your settings in the F6, and then your workflow/settings you use in the DAW with the Rode Plugin.
For now, if you could reply with what format you record in, and if you found one to be better than the other. I really appreciate it!
Hi! Im about to buy that wonderful thing and can't find any information how long the cable is. Should I get extra cable or its long enough for field recording from the box?
ОтветитьZack, and zack! <3
Ответитьheyyy veery nice, I record sounds of Buenos Aires and other places and then I process them in my studio, many times the supports are not the ideal and exact ones to record, but I enjoy the sound texture that many of them generate, thanks for this channel, I already subscribed, if you want you can see the mio, I am very interested in the films with sound that they send me from other parts of the world
ОтветитьIs it iteresting to record everything in ambisonic and reduce in stereo if needed ? Or just get a stereo mic like BP4025 ?
Ответитьthe Rode picks up more bass than the Ambeo Vr which picks up more details in the mid and highs , it's tough to choose the right mic when your budget is limited. Thanks for the review
ОтветитьGreat video! Would you recommend this combination for professional use? --> doing coop with artlist for example.
ОтветитьCheerz!!!
Any idea on how to "link" channels in sound devices stuff?
thanx people!!
Pardon my ignorance, but why is it such a no - no to record music?
ОтветитьThanks. I enjoy the video. Although I'm finding the sound coming out of these recordings a bit too much on the hissy side. Where I expected a comfortable and ambient wide stereo image, I found it sounding very dense and compact. Are there different ambisonic decoding algorithms, or do they all sound the same?
ОтветитьHi,
Love you video.
Are there any other field recorders that you recommend at a cheaper price point than the Zoom F6 that can work for ambisonics with the Rode NT-SF1?
Thanks!
Wow this was amazing! Did you upload with the audio ambisonic or as stereo?
Ответитьwould this mic be good for indoor parties that includes DJ and people laughing, talking, dancing?
ОтветитьFairly new to field recording and ambisonics, but ambi curious :). Have you tried the Sennheiser AMBEO VR 3D Microphone? Looks similar in design to the Røde NT-SF1. Thanks!
ОтветитьIs that normal with "phase problem" issue? Or that effect is "specific" for that mics configuration/setup? What is a "vacuum sound"? Absolutely unnatural ambisonic sound.... what`s wrong in your opinion?
ОтветитьHave just got an Sennheiser Ambeo VR Mic will be very funny to start to use. :)
