I think most of those transistors were MOSFET's ( metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor). I didn't know they had gold. I save them for the Copper. Looks like 8 dollars in chemicals for $29 in Au. The smoke during your incineration with torch is absolutely TOXIC and shortening your life! Just burn it away from yourself with some wood or combustible. If you limit the amount of air, it will smoke less.

Fascinating video, love to see gold being recovered from old electronic components. I have worked in the electronics industry for many years and have hoarded many boxes of old circuit boards and discreet components. Some of the earlier boards have gold plated circuit tracks all over and ceramic chips with gold plated pins and covers, normally the high end Hewlett Packard medical electronic tech. Some day I hope I can give this stuff to someone who would be interested in recovering the gold, love to know how much could be recovered.
