Is there a ridge vent?
ОтветитьNot tenoned? That’s NOT the real way to build.
ОтветитьSorry but like most American construction, its all shortcuts and weak joints, held together with screws rather than the joints. No skill required to assemble. Looks nice but inherently flawed.
ОтветитьI saw about 25 OSHA violations . Someone's going to get hurt
ОтветитьI live in San Antonio tx and i wood like to bilt one of those in my home
ОтветитьIt's technically a Post and beam structure and not a Timber Frame, but I love the look so much. "A timber frame is a load-bearing wooden structure, held together with mortise and tenon joinery. Post and beam building is similar to timber framing, but in lieu of wooden joints, post and beam buildings are held together with bolts and other steel connections."
ОтветитьWhat are the overall dimensions of this build? Also, I think I see 8x8s for posts then 4x6s to tie posts together then 2x6s for rafters. Is that right? Love this layout. Exactly what I am wanting to build.
ОтветитьPersonally I really like watching your videos showcasing local businesses. 👍🏼
ОтветитьAmazing video. So glad it popped up in my feed. Killer job editing too
ОтветитьWhen I built my porch, I bought my wood straight from a big box store but I did something most people never think about and some thought I was crazy for doing. I put the wood in my garage, stickered them, and let them dry for months before constructing. This helped weed out the bad warped wood, made it much lighter to work with, and helped cut back bad warping after construction when the sun really hits the wood. Other than staining it every other year or so, the deck literally looks as good as new and was built back around 2014.
Do it right the first time and you wont' have to do it again later.
Nice video.
ОтветитьMilwaukee, is garbage compared to the yellow beast
ОтветитьAbsolutely beautiful! Anyone know what stain was used?
ОтветитьNot a Timber Frame. That is Post/Beam
ОтветитьMike, Mellissa, Good People! Wife's family from Cumberland are Harper's. Interesting to understand that family history. Yeah Harper Valley. All I remember from them is everyone worked very hard. We are from Berlin and Ocean City Maryland . Still on the "Delmarva Peninsula" You love the woods, we love the ocean and Assateague Island, driving on the beach and pretending we know how to catch fish.
ОтветитьThis is not a timber frame, not even close, this is post and beam just screwing boards together, huge difference! You should change the title to post and beam
Ответитьi like that textured tin..it looks great!!
ОтветитьGreat structure, but not a timber frame. Post and beam.
ОтветитьWhat was the cost of that pavilion? Looked great
ОтветитьWe have a much smaller less fancy pavilion and did cedar inside for the roof, steel roof itself. Very nice looking that way and it isn't loud in the rain.
ОтветитьIf it had walls; I would live in it. Great job. Framework looked solid and a quality crew.
ОтветитьGreat informative and entertaining video! Thanks Mike!!
ОтветитьBeautiful building but looks like a post and beam with all the metal fasteners.
ОтветитьIs this Deep Creek Lake?
ОтветитьVery nice! I'll be saving their Website in my Favorites list.. Thanks for sharing, I love your Channel Sir!! 👍
ОтветитьThanks for posting this. I’ve got a barn full of reclaimed lumber that I kept when I took down an early 1900’s built house. Am going to hire some local Delaware Amish to help me build a similar pavilion.
What were the brackets they were using? Didn’t look like Simpson Strong Ties…
Fantastic video !!!!! Love that structure !
ОтветитьThis is beautiful and I would love this in my backyard. ❤️
ОтветитьReally like your videos…. Nice to see something productive rather than watching fake news lol. Cheers from Canonsburg!!
ОтветитьThat is a really nice post frame building would be a nice lounge area and for cooking. Are they putting up windmills everywhere out your way?
ОтветитьNothing will ever replace the beauty and warmth of wood.....

ОтветитьThank you, Mike, for promoting small business!! I loved your comments about focusing on the good hard-working people in this great country 🇺🇸. Two of these hard-working guys, from "Ridge Woodworking" Joe and Jed are my son-in-laws... 🤩
ОтветитьAlways like watching your videos Mike. It’s all about seeing the good things happening in life. Not the drama of the bad!
ОтветитьJust Beautiful!! They really go after it,that's for sure!! Probably would be above my price range, but really nice!!
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьIf you like that not really traditional timber frame pavilion your going to love the one we are just starting on. Mortis and tennon with tree nails. all the timbers and bracing. massive king truss no steel except simpson ties to concrete. Those cabin bolts/screws are what all most cost me my life on a project.. one broke on a rafter and i feel one to the floor logs ripping every tennon in my arm off , then two more broke when i tried to hold on to the floor beams. then i feel 12 ft to the concrete floor, brakeing my hip and ankle. head tramma .. the bolt broke right were the threading stops... Yes I won a massive law suite against them.. I'm lucky i can do what i do today. I live with pain every day because of it..
