Let me stress once again, that we are not claiming our findings in this video to be absolute in any way. We were able to run some tests that gave us consistent results, but ultimately it doesn't prove it to be scientific fact. What it DOES seem to prove however, is that there is a method to Nintendo's madness when it comes to tying in Multiplayer VS...but we will need to do more testing to say for sure!
Quite honestly, this was the most fun I've had playing Mario Maker in a while. It was very satisfying to run these experiments and try to compute our findings as a community. The DGR community definitely plans to pursue further testing and would love YOUR help as I am far from the smartest banana in the bunch! Feel free to follow over on Twitch as that is where we are going to be continuing our research! Hope to see you there!
If it goes by number of points then test #2 would be invalid. one person would grab a coin which gives 100 points. The best solution would be a P block which does not spawn a coin when the P switch runs out.
ОтветитьIm the 1000 comment and idk what to do with this information ☠️
ОтветитьI remember playing Super smash bros for 3ds and losing the exact same time as my opponent and the game just crashed
Ответить“I’m on top, now next time I’m gonna be on bottom.”
DGR Dave
Yea both top at same time on either side
ОтветитьNow do it if they touch on same level at same time
ОтветитьJust make it where the players start on a block then p swirch acitives it and it goes
ОтветитьWalking might be inconsistent. Should be testing using conveyor belts and blocks.
ОтветитьOn the axe from the top it’s the last one to ground pound because it knocks you all off and then he steals first on the block nvm because toad won when Toadette gp

ОтветитьThe most likely answer is that it's deterministic but not by design. What that means is each set of conditions will have the same result but no one actually made decisions about what those results would be. They are the natural consequences of code being executed linearly. Even if the server is multithreading, it is unlikely that any given player-touching-the-goal is processed during the exact same instruction as any other, at the exact same pace, during the same CPU cycle. Ergo, whoever the algorithm happens to put first is the winner. Some checks are likely thrown in intentionally - the one who touches the top is rewarded for more ingenuity. But in the case where there's no variation between players, it's unlikely the programmers made conscious decisions about who would actually win.
ОтветитьHey DGR? Whats your maker ID?
Ответитьwhere are the mythbusters?

ОтветитьI would say it's host advantage, assuming the game is peer to peer, if not, it'll likely depend on who's the server priority. nevermind, makes sense it's dependant on who's highest on the poll, never thought about that one lmao
I highly doubt this would have been an oversight from nintendo.
imagine when dave sat out of it it still gave dave the win
ОтветитьYou won because you had the coin
ОтветитьI got tied before in multiplayer versus 2 days ago, but I still one but the other guy just does the victory pose, then the game crashed. It probably because the game got confused so it couldn’t handle it when i won but the other guy does the victory pose so it decided to crash
ОтветитьI honestly have a feeling I was there for a part of this session.
ОтветитьDGR: Tell your science teacher that we did a science experiment last night
My science teacher: Stay muted, camera’s should not be turned off
everyone: wow so interesting the experiment
me: HAHAHA "DGR: i be bottom, jfresh on top... Chist, you just look pretty
conclusion: I am not normal :v
"What happened to Toadette? Oh, I was Toadette" 🤣
ОтветитьThe top of the axe is invalid because it drops down earlier. The sides all reach the axe at the same frame, which is why it has arbitrary results.
ОтветитьI think your wife made a sex joke
ОтветитьMaybe the hitbox us different
ОтветитьSo Todd has the biggest hot box then
Ответитьits definitly random
Ответитьon the 2 test the person you can see wins
ОтветитьMy theory is that the test u did was hitbox related
Edit: if you dont get it toad has the biggest hotbox and Luigi I think has the smallest
I have the same blanket DGR!
ОтветитьBut that's just a theory a game theory thanks for watching
ОтветитьWhen he said im going “to totally back out” what my mind said was: ya mean TOAD-Ally back out XD
ОтветитьHealthbar played one of my levels!!!
ОтветитьI wish you could find my levels they are and fun
ОтветитьFrom what I saw, not sure if this decides the winner or is the result of the winner being chosen but who ever does win in the original super Mario top of the flag pole will be holding onto the right side
ОтветитьWho ever went in the door 2nd won on the 2nd experiment
ОтветитьYou should do this more
Ответить
