That styrofoam cup is not exactly the best example to use to illustrate the pressure at those depths! I would have been more impressed with something along the lines of a solid or semi-solid object shown compressed to, say, one tenth or one one hundredth of its original size! How about a bowling ball or a billiard ball!
Great episode!
Zzzzzzzzzzz
ОтветитьHaving the corrupt Clapper talking about spies is rich.
ОтветитьI was totally enamoured by the woman who had the role of master of disguise. How amazing is that!
Ответить.... VERY INTERESTING INDEED...🏴🤔
ОтветитьThe effort and expertise put into this project are mindboggling.
It was made at a time when computers filled whole rooms and there were very few of them suitable for these calculations.
Every home PC of today can do it with ease while you stream video or play a game.
It was an electromechanical milestone and I doubt something so complex has ever been built since.

ОтветитьThis is s design flaw...if the "picture capsules" were to be dropped in the open ocean; naval design (floatation) should be considered initially! Infact they should be dropped on the water & collected thereafter. Was this an oversight?
ОтветитьIt is a wonder there wasn't a mid air collision of the 5 aircraft recovery squad.
ОтветитьNow we got drones
ОтветитьIsnt CLAPPER a traitor and liar?? Thats what a friend told me.
ОтветитьYou shuold have done what,Patton said : “We’re going to have to to fight some day anyway. So lets do it,now when we have the men over here.” Patton was right.
ОтветитьWhat happened to Clapper?🤔Traitor
ОтветитьThe irritating first woman's top ten didnt tell us anything besides that which we already know!
ОтветитьAbsolutely extraordinary technology for the time, however I'm very surprised that the risk assessment during the design phase did not have a contingency for parachute failure, a very likely occurrence.
ОтветитьI would listen to any of these gentlemen talk about their experiences, all day 👍
ОтветитьCorona project
ОтветитьBy the way did u know that there's not one photo of the earth from space ? amazing
ОтветитьThe USA gave the Soviet Union billings of dollars worth of war material's they even sold yous Alaska?
ОтветитьThe green men in the moon?
ОтветитьWhy didn,t they make the thing be able to float in the first place
ОтветитьThis episode is interesting
ОтветитьLOVE PEACE EQUALITY RESPECT COMPASSION THESE ARE VALUES WE SHOULD PURSUE IN LIFE AND PUT INTO ACTION I ASK MYSELF WHAT ARE WE MANUFACTURING WEAPONS FOR WHY WARS ITS TIME FOR MANKIND TO BEHAVE RATIONALLY 🙏❤️💯✌️👍🌏
ОтветитьThe Trieste didn't do anything that the Navy's unmanned CURV program hadn't already been doing for several years prior. Manned vehicles, whether undersea or in outer space, have always been sexier.
ОтветитьWow just to see the tech back then. Imagine what we have now a days.
ОтветитьThe technical expertise of these guys in the 1960s is really impressive. Launching a vehicle into orbit with a hi speed camera rolling film over 6 meters per second. Miles of film. Dropping the film pod from the satellite. Picking up the pod with a hook suspended from a C130 Hercules. Then getting the film and developing it. All this stuff was being invented on the run.
Some big brains and massive money went into these projects.

ОтветитьAm I wrong? In a previous episode, the Americans were hunting down and prosecuting Russian spies living in the USA who were gathering USA information to take back to Russia. But it's all 100% O.K for America to spy on the Russians (and other countries) to gather information they want from Russia? Hypocritical is it not?
ОтветитьNeed that lense!
ОтветитьBrilliant doc 👍
ОтветитьUSA The Biggest spy in all thee world. aha
Ответитьwow this was incredibly interesting
ОтветитьI finished watching all 7 episodes, loved watching. Thanks for posting
ОтветитьThose pictures are so accurately insane given created in 1950s. Better than Google Earth! Wow.
ОтветитьI see Clapper in this piece - does he have a great lawyer lined up? _ I think he’s gonna need one.
ОтветитьA question to americans reading this: do grown adults who say "nucular" instead of nuclear sound dumb as rocks to you too?
ОтветитьAmericans Amazing
ОтветитьThis is one of the better spy series I've seen. Not loaded with propaganda. Focuses on the craft and the situations. It's a shame that we need these shadowy people doing what they do, but we do need them.
