Justin, you bring the art of repair into the realm of art. Thank you
ОтветитьI wish I had seen this video yesterday. I had a large BGA chip to remove and I ended up lifting some pads and scrapping the board. Luckily it was one of those if I can fix it great, if not no loss. I goes to show you always can learn something new even after 60.
ОтветитьHi,
Thanks a lot dude, I've never seen anyone use gravity to their advantage when removing an IC!
Also never seen anyone successfully remove one without flux!
Really, really enjoyed it and I can't wait to get my hands on the next board that I'm gonna repair!
thank you very much
ОтветитьHow do you remove an IC chip with heavy epoxy around it?
Ответить👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 You've got a new fan bro
Ответить🤓🤓🤓🤓 this is you
ОтветитьBla bla bla bla bla
Ответитьhey i got some questions u got an email i could get ?
ОтветитьMate all good, what temperature did you have the gun at & does it vary given lead solder or silver solder. Many thanks. Joined.
ОтветитьWhy not no new videos
ОтветитьI did this today and it worked really well, I got the idea from your other video on how to deal with EMI shields so I guess its no suprise you do it in other circuits. I liked the way you described gravity can react faster than us also haha, just a solid fact right there. Now I'm just going to go through your other videos and find out if there are any good techniques for reapplying BGA chips, if not I will just make something to hold it in place while gravity pulls the chip back down once the solder has wet.
ОтветитьSo, I have an AOYUE Int 968 and have tried to get a mosfet off a motherboard from a First edition Xbox One. I've seen others make this look super easy in videos but mine has completely crumbled to ashes now trying to get it off. So now I have no black top of the mosfet left on the board but still have it soldered to the board. I don't even see the solder melting at all but the heat sure is hot as hell and burnt up what was left of the mosfet i was trying to remove. Any tips for me to get the soldered part of this mosfet to come off .

ОтветитьI live in the hills of Nowhere and cell signal is pretty ghosty so I draw spotty WIFI from a repeater linking me to my family's main house. When you mentioned visual cues I knew at 3am that I had to get out of bed and go to the main house to watch this with great interest. I don't care about the boards but I want to lift working components, not roasted chestnuts. You have started my day off right, sir. Recycled boards and running specs on all the components has become my primary source of parts for projects. I love finding real "get shit done" components like expensive or high grade op amps, regulator or booster ICs or just the really useful transistors.
ОтветитьThe only time this doesn't work is when there is underfill on the chips. Stupid apple didn't like me swapping the memory easily.
ОтветитьThank you dear.
ОтветитьWould this potentially rip a pad though?
Ответитьdo you have any trick on how to remove the black paste on ic?
ОтветитьThe art of repair playlists are awesome. Going there right after this upload.
