Jake's probably the most underrated guitarist ever. My older brother, who taught me to play guitar, was a huge Randy fan, but got the Bark at the Moon cassette and was mind blown. Both were awesome guitarists but in different ways. Ozzy sure had a knack for picking guitarists, but they (and Bob Daisley) certainly carried him.

That part with F# to D...to E... he's saying that he held the F# down for tension thru those chords. He did not do that on the record. I've heard the solo guitar track for Bark At The Moon. The bass does it....but he does not. I know that technically that F# should be held down thru those chords...and I've always done it when I play it. But....he didn't do it on the studio recording. The bass does it. I just get a kick out of how he's saying that's the way he does it...but he didn't do it on the record.

I really struggle with the alternate picking on the A string to the stab on the chord and back to the A string. Anybody know some good things to practice to work on that? I have the same issue with like the fast riff in One by Metallica

Starting to spread your fingers so wide and as well fast and i wonder if it was my guitar that was wrong or me that couldn´t play it.
A lots of "ouch´es" when the fingertips hurts and there just must be guitars with strings that gets less painful to play on when doing it.

I think Jake intentionally wrote messed up riffs just to screw with every budding guitar player on the planet. He probably spent the next ten years giggling every time he heard someone trying to cover one of his Ozzy songs. He's one of the most underrated guitarists to EVER exist. We all know Bark at the Boom, but go back and listen to Waiting for Darkness, and then come back and try to explain how that's not just pure genius.

I just came from Gus G's take on this song. They call it "Gus G Shows You How To Play "Bark At The Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne". They give Jake no credit and he plays it all wrong. Just wrong. Not different or with his own style just plain fucking wrong.

Sharon totally fucked him over. He wrote that song and didn’t get the credit for it. He never recovered after Ozzy… I think drugs, and alcohol had a lot to do with it. I couldn’t imagine the pain I would feel being in his shoes and the anger and disappointment.
