ОтветитьHi, and thanks for the video(s). One minor question: if you make the backup layer (as you suggest) and you leave the little eye icon on for that layer, does it cause the background original to "bleed" through into the layer(s) with which you are working?
ОтветитьUseful tutorial, thanks. Is there any information on altering curves using the histogram that appears in the background of the curves window? So, using the histogram as a guide, moving the line accordingly? Thanks, Matt :-)
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial. I'm definitely going to subscribe to see what other useful videos I can dig up.
ОтветитьI've been using curves for yeas on colors, but today i tried it on a black and while image in desperation that I had been unable to get good contrast in using brightness and contrast tools, and it worked beautifully! Wish I knew why!
ОтветитьGreat tutorial! I'm trying to teach myself GIMP. You sound like Michael Caine, by the way.
ОтветитьWell, the curve is nothing but a translation. X is input -gets translated into Y value. On a diagonal line, x50 is bound to y50 - hence no effect. When pullung up the line, i means: x50 Iinput) gets into e.g. y70 - so in the case of dark-light it gets lighter.
ОтветитьThank you for your very helpful tutorial! you were great!
Ответитьyour tutorial 'using curves to improve contrast' is very helpful. thanks... LF
Ответитьgreat, thanks
ОтветитьI like your videos - clear and easy for a learner of gimp like myself. cheers mate.
ОтветитьVery useful - I'd never bothered learning the curve tool before, but now I have a bunch of scans of old photos I need to brighten up, this is perfect.
ОтветитьI rather enjoyed your waffling! Great tutorial, off to learn some more Gimp tricks. Thanks for doing these tutorials!
ОтветитьI am a beginner and this tutorial has been very useful to me. The author understands the beginner and has structured this accordingly. Moreover, a clear voice and easily understandable pronunciation (I'm Indian and understood easily). Thank you very much!
ОтветитьI like how you actually explain what curves is and what the line means Thank you :)
ОтветитьAnother way of preserving a master copy (the original) is to immediately save it with a different name. This doesn't over write the original, and instead creates a separate copy which can be worked on. I've always done this with Word files.
Ответитьthanks..its useful..presto!
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorials, did anyone notice the image "went G major" at 3.33? At 3.33! o.O
ОтветитьHow can I change all pixels of a certain colour into a specified different colour without effecting anything else of a picture?
ОтветитьI thank you :D This REALLY did help a lot :)
ОтветитьDefinitely the audio volume is quite good on this one. Aside from the volume the only request I could ever have of you is that you refrain from using any slang terms that may confuse other areas of the globe, unless you explain the meaning of the term at the time; so many examples can be cited its not really necessary to get into it. Great series of offerings malgalin. I've seldom seen a mistake in them and your enthusiasm to get the rest of us in the artpool with you is enviable.
Ответитьthanks so much. Tour tuts are fab to help us newbies understand the basics of gimp. You speak clear and give great tips too. (love your accent too!). Looks like you've travelled to some cool places as well. thanks again.
Ответитьawesome !! You got me inspired to try gimp. Very easy to follow and very audible instructions. Keep it up! Greetings from the Philippines!
ОтветитьAwesome video!
ОтветитьCool people waffle when they talk. Thanks for the vid, very easy to follow and very helpful.
Ответитьthanks again:K) - i'm enjoying learning with your tutorials and learning how the different features of GImP can translate into fun for me!
ОтветитьThank you again ;)
ОтветитьThank you so much for taking the time to share! And I like your waffleing. Some tutorials move too fast for beginners like myself - the fact that you take it a bit slower is a plus for a lot of us. :)
ОтветитьI was playing around with the curves tool a bit the other day but wasn't quite sure the best way to use it. This helps a lot. Thanks!
ОтветитьNone taken. I waffle. It's what I do.
ОтветитьNo offense, I didn't like it that much :-) It took you 2 Minutes to get to the point this tutorial is about. But finally I got a faint idea of what this color curve is about ;-)
