2.5 to 3hp of torque Being Inclusive of the Reduction of course. ( or don't say that to someone directly connecting an electric motor to a prop shaft ) The Nice Thing About Approved Systems Is They Are Approved For Their Voltages, People Out There !!!!
on the piece meal stuff:
there may be some provisions, in the emerging salt code, having to do with connections; which may allow for higher voltages than 51.2Vnom.( Not Anytime Soon Though ) but i think that center tap sea ground may have to be there, ( But Then You Have To Have Protection From EMP ) at some point; for packs over 25.6Vnom.....and the same connection code Might allow for floating packs, under those regulations, which are a little higher than 25.6Vnom.......but as it sits at the moment, electrically floating packs are still limited to 25.6Vnom

i sized a system for a little Grinde 27, using one of the newer axial flux motors and got the pack down to 24V ( 25.6Vnom ).....that's the gold, because the system can still be electrically floating..
On Salt, anything over 25.6Vnom ( up to 51.2V Max nominal Li-Ion ), you really need the center tap sea ground, to center reference the pack;
but as soon as you put in a sea ground, you need faraday cages, and a way to route lightning current to sidarcs.....So don't put in CTs....but what are we going to do ???

What if I want to covert a large (60') cabin cruiser into a hybrid, but without losing top and cruising speed (22K / 17 K). It has a semi-displacement hull, so I'd like to have the power to get it up on plane.

What’s the fuel type for the generator? Does it need water cooling like a combustion engine? How does it exhaust? How loud? What’s its fuel capacity?

Hello, I am curious about the "Continuous Run" characteristics of the AXC 12 and 24 motor configurations.
Example: Runing for extended periods in the series hybrid configuration while the generator is online in to recharge the batteries

how do you protect against lightning ,? MOV'S? its the biggest concern on a sailboat ,as the oceanvolt system is sort after but pricy for many and lightning would generally take out an alternator, that can be repaired or replaced at a low cost ..but I'm sure replacing oceanvolt components isnt ready available or cheap as replacing an alternator ..?
