im new to the Ethical Hack thing and trying to get my head around networking and linux.
i plan to get a Laptop with these specs.
windows 10, intel core i7, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD/SSD
and some other normal specs.
should this be good enuf for trying all things I may need for pen test ?

A lot of people saying this is hardly an advanced course. That is correct, if you look at the subject area, he clearly shows you he has a complete course in which you can enroll, obviously for a fee. People should not be expected to work for free and he was not misleading. What else could he possibly call the video? Perhaps "first course in wireshark, I teach full courses on udemy, watch this video and see if you want to enroll" ok sure, but it literally says that if you bother to look at the subject of the video you are watching.

in ubuntu you can install it as a user and run it from gnome as root. just open terminal, enter 'sudo su' enter pw type 'wireshark' and enter. be sure to leave the terminal open or it will close out the app along with it. this is good if you have other people in your home that you don't want using your apps or other various reasons as most people don't know to open the terminal to run apps.

Crap.a) You need to make it clear that you are only concerned with Linux as the OS, although Wireshark is platform independent, your instructions are for Linux command line.b) The dark blue on a black background maybe very trendy amongst command line die-hards but it makes it nearly impossible to follow from a third party medium such as a user's own personal screen.After persevering for over 30 minutes, I eventually gave up and stopped watching and will look for another tutorial
