How to Setup a home in Apple's Home app

We have a HomePod speaker, and I want to know how to add apps, so it will play music. So when I say hey Siri, as I’m talking to my HomePod play some music it tells me I need to add that music App to my home app. I don’t know how to do that. Can you tell me?

Hi. I had my HomeKit already set up and running, then a couple of years later I switched internet providers and switched internet routers and internet name and password, since then, the HomeKit stopped working, it no longer controls my lights, it says "gone dark". I can't for the life of me, figure out how to fix this issue. Any suggestions. Thanks so much

Also, since i wont be using those accessories, is it possible to set up home kit without homepod mini / apple tv / ipad? I wont be using Siri to control Smart Locks.

Or do i still need a hub to enable home kit and the smart locks?

How do you get a HomeKit code?

When i open the app is says to continue and if i press it, it says “Could not add home. My home”

Mine just says loading accessories and scenes

When I get to that page that says get started and I click the button it says could not at home and I don’t know how to fix that

Just wondering how homekit accessories works and controlled from outside network. Understood that if we use third party apps to control devices from outside, it uses its own cloud server to send the command to network hub and hub will send the command to that device. But how it works in homekit? Is it using our icloud or is it using apple cloud for IoT or by any other means?
