Most importantly: They are red!
ОтветитьHow are these two pick ups wired on this guitar? I am looking for a diagram.
ОтветитьSo many weird negative comments here ! I never tried DiMarzio pickups but after listening to this I will for sure, this sound is insanely good, smooth , full, bold and tasty.
ОтветитьIt would be nice to actually hear the pickups with out all the of effects. He said he'll play some blues. Then then you hear a mountain of delay. It was awful sounding.
ОтветитьHe really likes delay. His sound is drowned it delay.
Ответитьgreat video and insight.
ОтветитьI Love that Orange JS model.I saw a used one at an Austin pawn shop awhile back for $1k,I shoulda bought it.😭.
ОтветитьI've been using the Satch Track for at least 4 years.
There is no neck pickup that even comes close.
Where is your hair
ОтветитьMight need to look into the Mo Joe pickup.
Ответитьthis would be really interesting if he would test it also using some cheap amp, or at least would be nice to hear it with no effects at all.
ОтветитьThe Mo Joe is my fave pickup of all time and I put it in the bridge of 5-6 of my guitars. Sounds great in my alder Charvel pro mod and equally good in the bridge of my Jackson Soloist pro series. It even sounds great in the bridge of my double cut LP. I`m really diggin` the Satchur8 which has enhanced higher mid range...sings and sustains for days, and cuts through the mix like a champ. Similar but different than the Mo Joe. Also love the PAF Joe and have those in the neck of 6 guitars also...and will soon try PAF Joe in the bridge. The vowelly wah sounds are like having a built in effect pedal when touch and technique are just so...the vowels and the magic come out..the pickup literally speaks. Love Dimarzio products and Joe and I have been fans of both for 30 years!
ОтветитьThe next set for Mr. Satriani should be called the "Satch n' Sniff" pickup set. Best name ever...all yours Mr. Dimarzio and Mr. Satriani. :)
Mister Dimarzio, I love you sir, and your wonderful pickups. In the mid 80's I discovered your company while looking for a humbucker to put in a Gibson V2 that I owned, but had these very weak V shaped pickups. I saw a store selling replacement pickups and I was shocked and thrilled. I saw the name "Super Distortion" and I HAD to have one. My Gibson V2 sprang to life! Thank you.
I would later ruin that V2 trying to route it for a floyd...I know, I know... but I also had a Charvel and a Gibson SG and they did NOT have Dimarzios in them...so, they were next (I still have the Charvel -- played FOUR necks off of it. I did not know anyone who could replace frets in my area at the time so I just bought other similar Charvels and robbed the necks).
I have owned and played EVERY humbucker that you make that is medium to high output. And most of the single coils. Every time I build, or mod a guitar they get Dimarzios. I have tried other pickups and they are NOT as good as Dimarzios. Duncans just sound like an average pickup overwound. I played most Duncans and meh...not for me. EMGs have zero head room and I cannot stand them. Played all of the other brands too, or bought guitars with other pickups in them. All were replace with Dimarzios.
I have around 40 guitars now (you can tell which house is mine by the sound of my angry about that wife!) and they all have Dimarzios. My favorite combination is a Crunch Lab (X2N and Titans are runners-up and I own a LOT of those too) in the bridge and a Tone Zone in the neck. I have the Norton, PAF Pro, Breed and Super 3's in some of the neck positions, but I find that if I install a Tone Zone facing in the neck like it would be facing in the bridge, I achieve the best neck pickup sound ever.
I play mostly neoclassical metal and nothing can touch those pickups on God's green earth. I just wanted to say thank you sir, even though you will never read this, for 35 years of great tone in my life. If Mr. Dimarzio was to have a line of autographed pickups, I would pay way more to have them. I am sure that a lot of guitarists would. You really should tell Mr. Dimarzio to autograph some stuff and put it up on the website for us Dimarzio junkies to buy.
Have a great new year...cannot get worse unless space-alien dinosaurs molest us as the earth hurls into the sun. :)
joe has a weird feel. it’s like he doesn’t fret the notes all the way so it sounds not sloppy but like he hasn’t practiced it much
ОтветитьCan I ask how you recorded the amp? Mics and mic positions? Thank you! Love your stuff!
ОтветитьAll new respect for Joe. While sitting and playing the guitar, he plays with the guitar sitting on his left knee. This makes sure that your left arm never crosses your torso, which allows easier access to to the lower portions of the neck. Not only that, but it also allows for easier vibrato and placing your thumb on the back of the neck well for bar chords. Hell, everything improves. Now, if we can only talk more people into playing this way.
ОтветитьSoooo dimarzio made a red Coll Rails., Cool.
ОтветитьOMG he makes me think playing guitar is a piece of 🍰....
ОтветитьWell, I guess we know what Joe's echo setting sounds like now.
ОтветитьHow to verify lead protion
ОтветитьLike steve lukather sound 1986...
ОтветитьGreat Master Satriani 🎼❤🎼
ОтветитьAlways amaze me the way Master Joe play...
ОтветитьA true guitar and gear master. None better.
ОтветитьIncredible skills, absolutely love that color
ОтветитьBetter than you vito bratta white lion.your guitar is common pattern
ОтветитьMany thanks Jo
ОтветитьHe is so good man...just good - no flash needed..just ONE note!
ОтветитьDang those sounds.....😃🤩😎👍🏽
ОтветитьJoe super blues
ОтветитьI was going to criticise the sound then I thought it through... WTF DO I KNOW.
ОтветитьToo much delay n reverb..... not matching...... however !!
ОтветитьSurging with an alien...
Ответитьsublime la JS full Orange, j'adore ;
ОтветитьHe just throws down riffs like they're nothing. How does he remember all of this. His own catalog is enormous with solo after solo for decades. There is no way I could remember all of this even if I wrote it all.
Ответитьsounds like a thin blanket over the speaker....
ОтветитьThe DP425 reminds me of the tone that comes from the " Fred " Dimarzio in my strat neck position. It has that wet/fat neck tone to it. But Joe's Mo Joe sounds really thick. In some ways, especially as Joe plays closer to the bridge, that pickup brings out more of the pick sound, simliar to the way Frank Zappa's strat picking sound was.
Ответитьear candy should be outlawed when using it to demo pickups and amps
ОтветитьTried out the Mo'Joe, sounded great for cleans and leads, but not so much for hard rock and metal. Going to be swapping it out with a Norton to see if that would be a good compromise.
ОтветитьI wonder what distortion Joe is using?.
Ответить👽🤐 respect for my inspiration hero 🙏
ОтветитьI bought a pair of these, never looked back :)
ОтветитьWow, neck pickup sounds like a strat, on a Steve Vai 7-string would be awesome....
ОтветитьAlong with what the guitar already does, how does guitar hold up for metal riffage?.
I am to decide between this and the Ibanez MM1 (Martin Miller Signature) guitar. Thanks
He tuned down.... sounds good!
ОтветитьКАКОЕ совершенное владение инструментом.... Гитара - это Любовь на всю жизнь!!! Я очень довольна, что открыла для себя Сатриани....Многие вещи часто звучат во мне....
ОтветитьWas looking into Ibanez so wandering the web. Superb pups ! - JS probably can make anything sound great ! If only he would have took up singing too ... & dum did da lee. Rock on !
ОтветитьI love this man.
