Alfredo Kraus - Je Crois Entendre Encore

OK adding to what I posted a week ago, I'm going to add that while Alfredo Kraus treats us to this sublime rendition of "Je Crois Entendre Encore" I actually prefer Matthew Polenzani's version from his 2015 Met opera performance of Les Pecheurs (HD streaming).
Alfredo Kraus' version is a bit cold, maybe that's because it's a concert performance as opposed to the stage, but I suspect not.
Matthew Polenzani exudes a warmth and charm that is characteristic of his operatic technique and personality. However, with that beings said, while I like both versions, if we were to play the "desert island" game I stick with M. Polenzani.

what is it about singers from the '40's - "70's ?
Even many of the lesser singers of that era display breathtaking refinement, elegance and dignity.
Think what you will about James Levine (I will NOT engage in arguments/discussions about his downfall) but in a Charlie Rose interview he said the global reservoir of top quality talent, ranging from teachers, coaches and singers has been running thin and is overstretched compared to his days as a youthful prodigy.

This performance hasn't been superated so far...

Whaouh je ne connaissais pas incroyable j'ai écouté Roberto Alagna et Michael Spyres très beau mais cette version les surpasse quel diction c'est parfait et cette voix de velours magnifique !

Male.. Brutta... Non mi è piaciuta.. Sembra più parlata.. Anche male.. Con un altro timbro.. Che cantata a dovere. Poi come di suo solito l acuto finale lungo.. Alla del.monaco...ma nel complesso. E brutta questa recita di Otello... Ma! Bo.. Non eraz semore uguale la sua voce.. Lui faceva quel che caz.. Voleva.. In quel periodo. E con la fama che aveva.. Oggi non si può più... E meno male perché non si Pu sentitre5 una recita in questa maniera..
