Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) Installation and Configuration on Windows Server 2022 and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Part 1


Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, formerly System Center Configuration Manager and Systems Management Server (SMS)is used for managing large groups of computers providing remote control, patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, and hardware and software inventory.

In this video i will show you the Step by Step installation and Configuration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager in a Windows server 2022 and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Environment.
I will also show you the step by step installations and corrective actions taken on failed prerequisites.
Normally these applications should be installed in separate servers but I decided to install it on one virtual machine which shows you how stable windows have become even in a minimal network environment

1. Install required prerequisites
a. .NET Framework Feature 3.5
b. Web Server (IIS)
C. Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS)

2. Create c:\wsus directory to store updates

3. Download and Install Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Reporting Services

4. Open Windows Services and ensure “Remote Registry” set to Start Automatic

5. Run Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

Verify Server Collation Setting “ SQL_Latin1_General_CPI_CI_AS ”

Verify SQL Server Services State “Running”

6. Reboot, Login and Verify Remote Registry “running” and SQL Report Server “UP”

7. Download, Install and Configure Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager Eval

8. Perform Corrective Actions for the following Failed Prerequisites:

a. Microsoft SQL Running Account
Replace NT Service\ MSSQLSERVER with plaza\sa

b. Microsoft Remote Differential Compression (RDC) Library
From Control Panel Turn on Remote Differential Compression Feature
