And where do thermopads on ram memory from the other side? NOOB! An excellent example of how not to repair modern electronics!

BTW another example por flip-chip mounting technology. Same crap like X360 and little PS3.
In those cases, reballing as well as heating itself were used to melt the solder and gave a similar effect.
In most cases, soldering only a new CPU with permanent solder under the silicon system gives a decent result of the repair for a long period.

High temperature and high electrical current on the nano contacts cause faster degradation of the solder between the silicon wafer system and the BGA housing.

The best way to prevent such effects is to limit the power emitted by a single silicon system to about 80-100W. So packing the CPU and GPU into one system separating about 140-200W into a weakly entertained housing with inefficient cooling is a dead end when it comes to durability. Unless the silicon core for the BGA housing starts to mount as INTEL does. Wires! : D
Of course, the minute stiffness of fixing the MOBO motherboard also causes it to deform under the influence of poorly received heat from the CPU.

You don’t want to touch the chip with the iron when adding leaded solder. Add enough solder to the tip so you have a ball of solder touching the chip not the iron itself

My PS4 slim 1000 terabyte model has networks since November of last year it's doing the blue light thing that goes on and off and doesn't turn on again I'm pretty sure it's because it's really dirty though inside and there's a lot of roaches in there bugs a lot of dirt

What kind of rework station do you have? I was thinking about getting one but I don't know which one is good since all the cheap ones come from china

At least we know that there was no shortage for flux or thermal grease in Netherlands in 2015 :^) As for the job - well done! And don't listen to those assholes seeking flaws in your work. We haven't seen them sharing their work and knowledge (and flaws) with anyone. Hindsight critisizm is always so smart. We all develop only through doing something and making mistakes on the go. Improving on those mistakes makes a master, not just sitting one's ass off doing nothing but seeking flaws.

You could almost use the chip as is after applying the leaded solder. The only problem is that you don't know for sure that they are all the same height otherwise it would be perfect to use the pseudo leaded balls so that you can reflow the chip at a lower temp back onto the board.

Using minimum flux, same result.
What flux is best for reball ?
Nc599 clearly isn't.

Interesting but discouraging. A ton of careful steps and a machine, and even a pro that knows what they're doing it took 45 minutes to complete. So basically if your unit needs a reball and the clamp fix doesn't work, then you gotta sell your unit for parts cuz no one would do this repair for a reasonable price. I saw one person on ebay willing to do it and I think he charges $175 and you have to mail him the motherboard.
